PlayStation Extraordinary

Quote:
"First off, the PSX is capable of replaying and recording CDs and DVDs,"he noted. "There is a 120GB drive inside the system[a TiVo2 typically has an 80GB hardrive, and the upcoming PS2 harddrive is likely to be 40GB], so you can record and replay off the drive or copy media from the hardrive onto a DVD. The system also includes Memory Stick compatibility, all types of connectors, EPG [electronic program guide] support built in.
What do you think?? Please don't come up with stuff like "HAHA they are trying to copy the X-box" "its crap" plz don't come up with that.

Re: PlayStation Extraordinary

It probably has Firewire, but Sony calls it i'link, gots to be rebels. As for wireless built in I would be suprised if it didn't considering the PSP will have 802.11*, but that might be a honor reserved forthe the PS#.

Re: PlayStation Extraordinary

I read about it and wished my PS2 would magically turn into that thing...but nothing happened. It sounds cool but it will probably cost like $500. Ill just stick with what ive got for now I doubt Id use the TiVo thingy very much anyways......though a dvd and cd burner would so awesome!! The one I have is real slow-like.

Re: PlayStation Extraordinary

I think it'll be a waste of money if its for the PS2, the next Gen of consoles is almost here and the PS2 is falling behind. (is power...not sales)

Re: PlayStation Extraordinary

Its going to cost more than 500 I believe. Its insane, why would I want to pay a huge sum for a console, when its big brother could be out in two years. Its obvious that the console makers are now focusing on a monopoly of thier products inside peoples homes, making it so its only , say "Sony" products that you have around your TV.

He says that it would be amazing if it had IEEE support.

Anyway as for price, i think that if it is a reasonable price $200 it woudl be worth looking at but Tivos are expensive, they can make PS2 technology for badically free compared to the rest of the machine. But i still think it will be too expensive to justifiy buy over a regular PS2.
