ff7 cleaning

well to make this short, started a game of final fantasy 7 a while back and when i got to the part where ur in prison and right after youy beat dyne, you go to the chocobo race and well when i do that now I get right before the race and the screen will goi black (me always hping it will jump to the race) it stays black and every 15 secs you hear a beep sound, like when u press something wrong on the game. I think it has something to do with a scratch on the disk. anybody got any soulutions on how to fix this.

If it is a scratch on the disc, here are some possible solutions:

1. Get the disc buffed.

2. Buy a new copy of the game.

3. sometimes scratches aren't the cause, it could be a hair or some dust. Try cleaning the disc.

iv cleaned it so it isnt dust, and it isnt the system cause i tryed it on my ps and ps2. buffing is the best solution probably.

I'm having a problem with my ff7 also, but its later on at the rocket launch site, the first disc i had i couldn't get inside the plane, i was just standing on it after i beat the guy with the ray gun, the disc was pretty scratched up, the 2nd disc it wouldn't even play the rocket launch FMV, but this time the disc is literally broken, about an inch crack, GameStop is always selling cheap broken games, good thing i only paid for 1 copy of it.

To answer The Mask's problem: I had the exact same problem - are you playing it on computer? If so then you need to download a patch from... the creators of the game:S sorry i borrowed it off of a friend and I can't remember the exact site but search around and they have a patch for it.

This should be over in general gaming...

I had a similar problem with FF8... it would get to the prison scene, at the top, zooming out from the ground... and it would freeze, and wouldn't load... i needed to return that copy to Blockbuster, and rent a different one... meh
