Re: are we in trouble

Depends on what the big "Revolution" about it is.

Maybe it's something really cool and everyone will love it.

Maybe Nintendo will screw up and do something stupid and everyone will hate it.

Re: are we in trouble

Doubt it. The Xbox 360 and the PS3 has just too much power flying in their wake. The GC is going to lag behind (not by much) but it wouldn't be the best of them. For sure the 360 and the PS3 will beat the GC in terms of overall comparison.
I mean the Xbox has 3 processors all running at 3.2Ghz each - thats a total of 9.6Ghz.
And the PS3's new processor (whatever its called) is how Time put it "...the Ark of the Covenant wrought in Silicon...".
Theres no way the GC is going to stand up to that.

Re: are we in trouble

By "we" I can't mean me, because I won't suffer any if nintend does.

On topic, there's no way to tell at this point. It seems that the more I hear about the revolution, the more I want it. But, as previously said, Nintendo still has the chance to do something dumb (again) and screw up everything. Nintendo is running out of feet to shoot themselves in and I think they realize that. I'm confident they'll do fine.

Actually, the X360 has a triple core of 3.2 GHz processors, each capable of running two threads simultaneously, meaning the CPU can generate six threads at once.

But Nintendo doesn't need the advantage when it comes to power. They have innovation, and I like new things.

As long as it's nothing like another Virtual Boy -- which I doubt -- Nintendo will pwn as usual.

Re: are we in trouble

Its going to be awesome. Just not as awesome as the Xbox360 and the PS3. Too bad we dont know much about it.
Once they release it, its either going to be very awesome or very sucky. Not in between.

It's too dang early to make predictions. We barely know anything about the Revolution.

the ps3 is gonna be over 400 bucks so i bet its not gonna sell as much because of the prize... 360 is gonna be 300 bucks which sounds better, and the rev... i dont know i barely know anything about it but im sure it wont flop.... both ps3 and 360 flop in design, but not the rev

Re: are we in trouble

Eh, the Revolution will do O.K. Sure, PS3 and Xbox 360 are more powerful, but Revolution will do fine. As long as Nintendo keeps up it's games, I'm sure the Revolution will do fine.

i agree mostly with what pepino_27 said. I don't think that the rev will peak 300$. i think Sony will also lose allot of sales because of it high price as well.

Re: are we in trouble

i am not saying this because nintendo is my favourite console but because think about it like this gamecube stood its ground against two well better consoles ( although it was still my favourite! ) so the new rev should have no prob also due to the fact that ive heard u can play all nintendo console games on it except DS so it should be cool!

Re: are we in trouble

Oh I don't know, I'm very much looking forward to playing the old games again (I'm too fearful to mod my Xbox and put the emulators on it!). The 360 will be outstanding, and sadly, so will PS3.

I'll have all 3 please. Like I've done with everything else.

Re: are we in trouble

Unfortunately, history is repeating itself. Already am I hearing people saying that the Revolution sucks because it is the least powerful console so far. People just won't get deeper than that, and I think that is extremely sad.
