Kirby Canvas Curse

I just got this game a couple days ago, and I would have to say that...I'm addicted. I've been waiting for a DS game like this for so long. YES FINALLY. There is absolutly no reason why you shouldn't buy this game if you have a DS. The touch screen is put to amazing use in this game (seeing as it's the only means of control). Anyone here have this game yet? If so, what do you think of it.

If you want a more in-depth look as to what I thought of the game check out my full review of it on IGN....go HERE (I'm The_Sizz)

Re: Kirby Canvas Curse

Well I was at <Ian>'s house the other day and it out. If you own a DS, you really need this game because it is the first game (other than Mario 64, which was a port) that doesn't feel like a gimmick. Touch screen gameplay is very intuitive in Canvas Curse. It should've had multiplayer, and I got the impression that it is rather short, but there are plenty of game modes, and it is very fun. If Nintendo can crank out more games like this with any sort of consistency, then the DS could be an amazing system. I somehow doubt it though.

This game looks good, I might get it. Uh Yoshi touch and go wasn't a gimmick...

Re: Kirby Canvas Curse

Yeah, I've been playing it quite a bit the last few days. Awesome game. It's extremely short, but supposedly has a lot of replay value, and extra characters, and whatnot. I haven't seen any of that for myself yet.

Re: Kirby Canvas Curse

I want this game badly, I've heard a bit about it. And I'm also a Kirby fan, back to Dream Land 1 when I was in second grade... fun times. But unfortuantely, I don't have the money to buy this game, and probably won't for a long, long time.

I'm saving for other things currently, yup yup. o-o

Yes it is. No doubt about it. In fact, I couldn't think of a better game to define the gimmick genre. It's a fun gimmick, but in no way worth the $30 dollars I spent on it. There are essentially no options, all game modes are basically the same, and you can't even choose levels. I realize it is part of the game, but the fact that you can't directly control Yoshi is super dumb. Comparing this game to its spiritual predecessor (Yoshi's Island) makes DS look terrible and actually a draw back to game design.

Kirby is also short, but you do control him directly, it is extremely interactive, and once you get used to it, pretty intuitive. The problem is, I'm afraid I beat the majority of the game at <Ian>'s house, so I'm not sure I want to buy it.

Re: Kirby Canvas Curse

BILLY NO, What you don't understand is that you THINK you beat half the game within a couple of hours, but that is not true at all. The game is becoming much more challenging that it was and I'm starting to realize that the Time Trials and Line Trials are too. The game gets much harder then you would think. So far, this game has absolutly been worth the 35 dollars I spent on it.

Re: Kirby Canvas Curse

This game is amazing. just plain great. im a huge kirby fan, and i first thought this game stra7yed too far away from classic kirby gaming (that was before i bought it). i thought it would suck. i then bought it to see what it was like. i've been hooked ever since.
anyway, here is a question. i beat the game with kirby and got the waddle dee ball, but how is it different? and what other balls are there to get? please tell me.

Re: Kirby Canvas Curse

If I had the funding for a DS, I'd be buying it, being the Kirby fan that I am. But alas, a DS, I have not. Birthday's coming up, I guess, but one game is not enough to convince me to buy a DS. I'll get one once the price goes down and once there are more games out that I'm actually interested in.

Looks like a fun game though, I rarely doubt the fun-factor of a Kirby game.

Re: Kirby Canvas Curse

Teh Plan:
-Purchase PSP
-Purchase USB->PSP Cable
-Purchase Kirby Canvas Curse?
-Purchase Nvidia 6600 GT
-Purchase Kirby Canvas Curse?

Depending on whether or not I need a gaming fix after I get my PSP, I might pick up K:CC. But almost surely, after I have bought my AGP card, I'll pick up K:CC if the cash is still flowing. The problem is, at that point, the fall releases might be starting to hit the shelves, and Kirby will end up getting the boot.

Ok...well you do have a DS right? You seem like you really want that PSP...but Kirby Canvas Curse is on the DS. You might as well get Kirby first because only 35 dollars or so, and it's definitly worth the buy.

Re: Kirby Canvas Curse

This game seems to be the Killer App I have been wait for the DS (Mario 64 and Project Rub come close but not quite because of being a semi-remake and connected collection of mini games respectively). As for Yoshi touch and go it comes off as being a tech demo, but some how I know one day I will be playing marathon mode for much of a very long, car, bus or train trip. So $35 *does some sums* $70 dollars Australian. The usual price on new DS games here. Kirby is definetly on my to buy list.

It's definitely not a killer app, Fireball. But it is worth the money.

Re: Kirby Canvas Curse

I love this game. It's cute, innovative, fun, addicting, and still keeps Kirby's classic charm while putting the DS' touch screen to use.

Re: Kirby Canvas Curse

Ugh, I haven't been able to play the game in some time. I've been really busy for the last week and only got to get a couple minutes in here and there. Since it's got such good replay value I'll come crawling back to it soon, but for right now it's the least of my priorites.

What's everyone's percent so far in the game....I'm only around 50%
