More RPGs, please!

Well, Nintendo used to have a bagload of RPG frachises, but over the years they have scampered away to PS/2 (bugger.)

Let's have a look at some of the ones we have lost....

Star Ocean
Tales
Final Fantasy
Phantasy Star (mark my words, the cancellment of Phantasy Star Universe for Cube signifies the departure of Phantasy Star for cube. I will never see another FOnewearl, sob).

There are more, arn't there? I forgot them.

Anway. There are barely any RPGs for Nintendo, and whilst I am hard at work, saving up to make my own RPG (Fata Morgana: Birth of Angels, and the sequel, Wings of Nirvana, will be Revolution, should they want it.)

So I think Nintendo should start developing its own RPG franchises. Golden Sun is okay, but it is a gamut of cliches and bland characters, and well Fire Emblem is a stratagy RPG, and they really are not my cup of Tea. Or a lot of people's.

You also miss Dragon Warriors, the first 6 games where on the NES and they have some games on Gameboy. Yeah, it kind of sucked that Nintendo lost some RPGs to Sony over the years. Nintendo do need to make their own RPGs(And no Super Mario spin-off RPGs. I enjoy Paper Mario and Super MArio RPG but come on! Mario need to stop in these spin-offs) Nintendo need to bring back Earthbound(Mother in Japan), an classic RPG that started in 1989 on the NES. They killed off the series during the 64-bit era when the had cancel Earthbouund 3. I also learn while doing a reasearch on video games that Sqaure Enix started making the Final Fatansy games for the Playstaion because the Nintendo 54 didn't have a disk drive, a huge mistake on Nintendo, losing a 3rd party ally to Sony.

If Nintendo do make a RPG, I hope the RPG dont have any cliches like four kids saving the world or a final boss fof the game is a giant half demon half angel or the likes. If Nintendo wants to seriously get into the RPG bussiness, they need to learn from the sueesfulness from Sqaure and their RPGs and learn how to make a good, orginal RPG, because no one in the right mind want to see another Super Mario RPG spin off where Mario is the chosen one to save the world and such.

Turn to PCs for RPGs, they have plenty of good RPGs. If you're after the RPGs with the Anime-art to them (like Final Fantasy or Phantasy Star) you won't be so satisfied with PC RPGs, but some of the best RPGs can be found for PC. Knights of the Old Republics is amazing.

Yes. No more Mario spin offs. If I see him in yet another game, I will wrap his moustache around his head. The way there is like several Mario games a year is starting to drive me insane.

As for the current RPGs-to-date that are available today for the Nintendo Gamecube...all of them except for three are absolute crap and not even worth mentioning. I think it's too late to start releasing RPGs for the Gamecube however, Nintendo has Revolution to deal with. They can create some good RPGs on there.

Oh, yeah, and if they are going to re-release Final Fantasy games on Nintendo systems, make them the ones that you can't normally get, like FFIII (fortunately, FFIII is planned for release on the DS). I really don't want really crappy remakes like Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls for the Gameboy Advance. It was full of glitches, was rushed through, and was crappy in general.

It's all about money. Each company works for the highest bidder.

meh, It does not bother me because I have a PS2.

All I have to say is, look to the old days. Chrono Trigger was a damn fun RPG and it's sequal for PS1, Chrono Cross was also pretty good. Square should have continued on with the franchise as it was making good money and could have been as good as the FF series.

Dawn of Souls was a great game. There were no glitches that I knew of, and it really showed you where the FF series started.

If you want lots of good RPG's, you need to get a PS2, with all the FF games, star ocean, etc. All Gamecube has is Paper mario, TOS and baiten Kaitos.

Actually even though we still lack RPGs on the cube it is a hell of a lot more than you could find on the N64 because down here if you didn't import the totla number was zilch. Now I must get back to playing Batien Katos.

Mmmm. The TOS and BK double bill was like, a dream come true for me. But now that BK has been and gone for me, what RPGs do I have to look forward to? Tales of Legendia was confirmed to PS2, and Phantasy Star Universe (which had both an offline rpg mode and an MMRPG mode) was cancelled for Cube and is now being redevolped for PS2.

It's not fair, I really want a PS2, but don't have the moolah.

Tales of Symphonia i think rules (as u can tell by my sig) and i want Tales of Legendia to come to gamecube.... grrrrrr no fair PS2 get it.
