DDR Nerds
This is a double-topic thread ^-^;. For those of you who know what DDR is, and you hate it and the people who play it-well, why? At my school, there is a DDR Club, but in order to ensure my safety and not get shot by preps, I decided to not participate. It seems if you play DDR, your a geek/nerd/freak to some people.
And for people who enjoy the game, favorite song and best accomplishment? |

Re: DDR Nerds
That's funny, because DDR is popular and well liked at my school. All the "Preps" do it. *Is a "Prep"

Re: DDR Nerds
Never got into it, but those people that are insanely good at it are always fun to watch in the arcades. Pretty cool when you get two really good people and a huge crowd forms around them. =P

Re: DDR Nerds
Love that game, but suck. My favorite song has got to be Sobakasu (Freckles). Funfun.
At my school, I only know a few people who didn't know about DDR. It's sort of funny, I heard some guy saying to some other guys, "I bet I could kick your a** at DDR." It was funny. I love watching good people play, but it's sort of bad because if you aren't good and people are watching...ouch....

Re: DDR Nerds
DDR's the local arcades big (read: only) drawcard. Very popular. I'm just getting on to 'Light' mode at the moment. I'm okay, I guess, for 'Light' mode I mean. My favourite song is...umm...it's done by Reveng and it's like a Japanese symbol. I'm not sure what it's called. That and Butterfly are my favourites.

Re: DDR Nerds
I've only played DDR once or twice and I made a complete idiot of myself in the arcade...but surprisingly making a fool of myself on that game was quite fun. I would try to hit the damn arrow on the pad and I dunno what I was doing wrong, but the stupid thing wouldn't work.
The song I liked on there was "I'm Alive" by CutN'Move (I'm not sure what version of DDR it was on). Well, that's the only song I know from DDR.

I have another friend who played it for the first time, and she went on a difficult mode accidently and ended up on the floor in frustration, hitting the arrows with her hands. It was hilarious.

Re: DDR Nerds
I was introduced to DDR at (of all places) a bowling alley, where I became a quick fan. Can't wait for it to come out on the GameCube.
DDR is pretty popular in my area, but I don't think a DDR club would do too well at my school. Who knows, though? I mean, the school chess club, which I looked on with much skepticism, has somehow managed to survive. Stranger things have happened.

Re: DDR Nerds
The Japanese Club in my school holds DDR Tournaments nearly every day. I've never gone to any of them, but I play lots of DDR right in my own home. I own two [cheap] steppads, which I have hooked up to my computer and use with a program called StepMania. It's a DDR Simulator, and works quite flawlessly as long as it's been programmed right by the themer. Lucky, I've made my own theme, so I know when things are and aren't working =P.
But as of now, I'm not using my own created theme, though many people seem to like it. Good, too, because I worked hard on it. ^-^... for those of you who know my character in the BA... the name of the theme is called Cobalite. Which is where I got the idea for Cobalite Stones for my character from. The theme is very... blue. But the real glory of StepMania is that you can download all of the songs you want, and load them in. So I have a good 300+ songs for this thing, all with stepfiles on Beginner, Light, Standard, Heavy, and even Challenge. And I can download as many as I want from places like http://www.ddruk.com/ and http://www.bemanistyle.com/. And with my big monitor, I never have problems seeing it from however far. Which is normally only a foot or two. ((DDR Gang: http://www.ddrmaniax.net/forums/)) Just a forum... a DDR forum. The place has been rebuilt, so I lost all of my posts. So it may look like I'm... completely inactive. Anyways: Currently... I can play most songs on standard, some I can't. I'm working my way up! I haven't played in a long time, so I suppose my skill level has gone down... But like I said, I'm working on it!
