Re: Starcraft: anyone still play?

It came out in 1998, so that's *counts of fingers* seven years ago. My brothers still play it regularly because we only got a computer a couple of months ago. The one thing that really perplexes me is how come they haven't made a Starcraft 2? It would guarantee them a truckload of money. On a related note, their spin-off, StarCraft: Ghost, well, I guess we'll see that in about 17 years going on their current schedule.

Re: Starcraft: anyone still play?

I've played it off and on over the years, and I only play online when I am using something faster than dial-up. I still need to check if I still have an account. I really don't feel like making a new one.

Re: Starcraft: anyone still play?

I haven't played Starcraft in about a year, now. Used to play it all the time, though.

I do, however, still play Total Annihilation, another strategy game that's older than Starcraft.

About Starcraft: Ghost, I want to play that game... but I'm expecting a 2050 release at this point.

Re: Starcraft: anyone still play?

Hm, it's been a while since I played TA, but I believe my brother is starting to express an interest in playing it. Of course I have the CD, and he is not here.
And for Starcraft: Ghost, Nihilistic Software (the game's developer) had stopped working on it over this past summer, and now Swingin' Apes Studios (makers of Metal Arms: Glitch in the System) have taken up the offer. According to Nintendo, it should be out sometime this year.
I'm hoping it will be out before, or during, September.

Re: Starcraft: anyone still play?

Damn fine game. Takes all kinds of great sci fi, space marines, aliens complete with young and creep like from Alien, and a new invented race, all in one. Gotta love those Terran Marines, best.space.soldiers.ever. (thinking of the roar of machine guns as the Zerg close in)

Re: Starcraft: anyone still play?

Good game. I stopped playing after my computer decided to make my battle.net experiance crappy even though I have cable internet.
I find Warcraft 3 to be better though.

Re: Starcraft: anyone still play?

I used to play it fairly often, then lost interest. A few months ago I felt the urge to play it again, but I had lent it to some friends, who had lent it to their friends, and now I'm out both Stacraft and Brood War. Just goes to show you can't trust some people with things. As said, Starcraft: Ghost looks pretty good, but I'll probably be so full of arthritis and rheumatiz when it comes out I won't be able to play it.
