Favorite LAST generation FPS.
Ok, I already know, seeing as this is a site based around a Nintendo franchise, that the lot of you are going to go OMWTFPWN GODEN I.
But eh.... My pick? Toruk 2: Seeds of Evil. Let me explain. ...Well, ok, nearly everything about the game as just badass. It was long. It was hard. It had gigantic stages (and I mean gigantic), tons of enemy types and dozens of some of the best guns to be in a FPS EVER. (No, I'm not joking) I often wonder if I'm the only person that didn't overlook this game. It got outstanding reviewer scores, yet not very many people talk about it. The psyshics were about as simple as those found in Halo. Like in any FS you could strafe, jump, and free aim. Grapically, it was some of the best the N64 had to offer (it looked about as good as a game that used the expansion pak) The enemies ranged from the basic lizard soldiers to gigantic ape like creatures, to giant spiders, and the living dead. This game had the biggest enemy viriaty in FPS I have ever seen. It also had the most awesome guns. Here's an example of two: The Shedder. It was a furturistic autp shotgun with an awesome feature. The buck shots that fired from it were held together by a blue energy and when they hit a surface they would seperate and richochet all over the place. The razor wind. It was alot like Xenas throwing hoop...only more dramatic. When it flew through the air it made this really cool sound and killed most enemies in one hit (it was gotten late in the game) when it would return to your hand, it would more than likely be covered in blood. Thorwing it agianst a wall and having it skid across it would...clean the blood off. It was awesome. Well, that's my pick. Toruk 2. Modern day Toruk sucks, which is sad really.

Re: Favorite LAST generation FPS.
I used to play Turok 1 and 2 back when they were new, and I've always loved them. Seeds of Evil is way better than the first one though. It has more realistic effects, better levels (insanely long as well) and great multiplayer.
I love Perfect Dark and the Turok games when it comes to FPS games for Nintendo consoles, and Duke Nukem 64 was really really fun as well (I think it was overlooked as well). I feel the same way you do about the Turok games, they seem to have passed by almost unnoticed, and I hate to see my favourite games be treated like that. My first choice is Perfect Dark, it was pure genious. My second choice is Turok 2 while my third choice is Duke Nukem 64.

Re: Favorite LAST generation FPS.
Goldneye is my favourite FPS of all time, not just last generation consoles. I could go into detail explaining why, but that doesn't matter.
Other good FPS's for the N64 were Turok 2 and Perfect Dark. Great games for their time.

Re: Favorite LAST generation FPS.
Yes, I'm going to say Goldeneye. But no need to worry! There ARE more.
Goldeneye, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Duke Nukem 3D, Perfect Dark, and Half-Life. |

Re: Favorite LAST generation FPS.
Perfect Dark is still my fave FPS of all time, for multiplayer anyways. It's just so deep, customizable, and has practically infinite replay value. Even though it's a bit dated, it's better than most other multiplayer shooters out there. (GE had a better campaign mode, though)
Perfect Dark Zero is going to kick ass when it finally comes out. |

Re: Favorite LAST generation FPS.
I'd have to go with Turok 2 as well. It was one hellova game. The level designs were freakin huge (I even got lost on some of the stages). The weapons were awesome too, my favroite being the one that drills into the heads and causes the head to explose. I'd have to say Turok as a whole(pre-Evolution) is a great series and an underrated on at that.

Re: Favorite LAST generation FPS.
I'd say Jet Force Gemini, but it's not really first-person. I'm not really into FPS', and about the only other old FPS I've played is the original Castle Wolfenstein. o_o.
