Favourite Game Genre
I didnt see any game genre threads but if there already is one then lock this or whatever.
Tell your favourite genre and give a reason why you like isntead of just saying advenure or what ever your genre is. Mine are adventure, FPS, RPG, action and strategy. I like strategy cause I love controlling my own army and having troops and like having huge fights. I like action games cause they have thrills and nice clean fun with intensity which I crave for sometimes. I loves RPGs cause of costimiztion trying out new things and the battle systems are just easy going and fun to master. FPS is fun cause I feel lots of action while playing, and sometimes its fun to feel that guilty pleasure of blowing one to pieces. Adventure is like RPG but Its fun to explore and find new things, going on adventures is just great. So whats your favourite genre? |

Re: Favourite Game Genre
My favorite genre are the RPG's for a few reasons.
First, I like lots of variety in weapons and items, and most Rpgs have much of that. Second I like really really really long games. Games that you get your money's worth of. Finally it most likely goes back to Dragon Warrior 1 and Final Fantasy 1. My first experiences with Rpg's and they were hard and very long.

Re: Favourite Game Genre
Well, it have several favorite genres
![]() Those would be RPGs, Strategy games, and platformers/adventure games. RPGs... well, I don't know... they tend to have the best music, the best of my preferred types of atmospheres, the mos emotion, and on top of that, the battle systems can actually be fun sometimes Not to mention how they tend to have fairly good graphics and some of the best FMVs.Strategy games... well, I lied. I don't really like the genre much. Most RTSs, I hate. there is only one TBS I like. However, I like the Warcraft games enough for me to say I like the genre ![]() The Warcraft series, as a whole, has my favorite story and second favorite world of any video games. And the basic gameplay, the base-building, the army management, just appeals to me. I'm sure everyone would secretly love to build a city, whether they admit it or not So, stick in some base-building, let them train and have total dictatorship over a few armies, and viola, you have a fun game.As for Adventures and platformers... I stuck them together since they are becoming less distinct. Often times a platformer will have adventure elements, and vice versa. These are the types of games that I play when I just want to contorl some individual. When I want to press a button and make a character jump, or press right and make my character walk right, these are what I play. Almost everything else is secondary to me. Although I count Zelda games as an Adventure game, I like them for compeltely different reasons that I won't get into right now ![]()

Re: Favourite Game Genre
I like Strategy games because I like the knowledge that comes with it. Of all of the game genres, this is the most beneficial esp if you are going into the military.
However I like Golden Eye and Perfect Dark so thus FPS are ok, Recently I have been getting into RPGs so yea.

Re: Favourite Game Genre
I like RPG's, for the most part. Some RPG's can really get frustrating and annoying in my opinion, so it's not my number one choice for genres.
First Person shooters are another one of my favorites. All the James Bond games were great in my opinion, and games like Halo, Counter-Strike, Half Life, and many others are all great games. And, of course, Action Adventure, like Zelda, are one of my favorite genres.

Re: Favourite Game Genre
Action/Adventure games with elements of RPG (Morrowind, Zelda).
I also like Shooters and "do whatever you want" games (Sims, James Bond, GTA).

Re: Favourite Game Genre
Im all Strategy and RPG. I like the ones with thought provoking storylines, and I can never get tired of the combat system(s) in any RPG game.
Aside from that, I aslo enjoy some Actiony stuff like Zone Of the Enders and Zelda. and I like Fighting games too, but really only SSB, Soul Calibur and Guilty Gear. Racing: boring Shooters: it depends on the game ( I dislike most) Sports: worst of 'em all. (with one exception......SSX Tricky was very good.) And I know there was a topic like this before.....I made it. Not like it matters or anything.^_^

Re: Favourite Game Genre
Adventures are my no.1 basically becuase of Zelda
RPGs are great, the atmosphere as someone else said is amazing. I tend to get bored halfway through some of them though .FPS, this one is a variable; some games i adore e.g 007:Goldeneye, TWINE, PD, TS2, UT2003 etc. but I hate most of the ones that are too realistic. I don't like CS and it's look-alikes either however there is the odd good one. one thing i can't stand is games that turn tradgedy into entertainment, e.g Medal Of Honour. btw did you know that sony has already copyrighted the words "Shock and Awe". MOH: Iraq - yeah right lots of people are gonna want that game.
