Hey guys, I don't know if any of you have seen this, but it appears that Namco is making a Mario Kart racing game for arcades (With nintendo's permision of course.)
The game looks fantastic, the graphics are not all colorful and kiddy like MK (Not that I didn't like Double Dash, I thought it was great.)
But there is one feature in this game which makes it worth buying (if you ask me) you can take a picture of yourself and use it to mark where you are at on the map! Yep, you heard correctly! You know the map that shows your character's position, the face of your character will be replaced by yours! You can view the screenshots here: http://planetgamecube.com/games.cfm?...rofile&id=2370
Or just go to planetgamecube.com to read the article. The article isn't even on IGN yet. Hopefully it will come to gamecube. (Chances are it will.)
"Non nobis, Domine, sed tuo Nomini da gloriam"
Translation: "Not to us, O Lord, but to Thy Name give glory!"
Oath of the Knights templar. Who were the Knights' templar? In laymen's terms, some bad-a$$ warrior monks who protected pilgrims on their way to the Holy land.
Heh, you put a in your post when trying to abbreviate (or soemthing) Mario Kart: Double Dash.
Anyway, it's weird the way Pacman's in this game, and all the arcades around me are realy crap, and not even one had F-Zero AX, so the chances of them giving Mario Kart: Double Dash is slim. I hope it becomes a Gamecube release though. I'm not bothered with Arcades, but then there'd be no Namcam. Looks pretty good.
Wow, that's pretty awesome. Finally Nintendo is coming back to the Arcade world. I wonder if this will be just like Mario Kart 64 (but with better graphics)? It's obvious that they scrapped the Double Dash idea, but still being in the driver's seat will be excelent.
oooooh prettiful *claps hands* I so want to play that when it comes out. Mario is so cool... I always perfect my driving with the slowest, usually Bowser. Then I tan everyone's hide! But yeah traditional mario kart games are just sweet to play.
I saw this earlier today. Looks quite interesting. I'd give it a go. Who knows? Maybe it will inject a little life into the arcade industry...or not. Unfortunately the arcade in my area will probably never get it as it is in Australia and the newest game they have is DDR which is quite a few years old now.
I think it looks great but I'll never play it. I dont think any of us will. Has anyone ever played the F-Zero arcade game? Both of the arcades around my area dont have it and I wouldnt exspect them 2 (although the one is a Namco arcade). So I dont exspect Mario Kart to be around. I plan on visiting the Nintendo store in New York when it opens so I'm hopin I will get to play it then.
Except that F-Zero was developed and announced at the same time for both arcade and Cube so F-Zero didn't eventually become a game on the Cube because it already was when the arcade version was released.
Anyway, this looks pretty good. I like the thing with taking your picture. There used to be this game at the local arcade where it took your picture and your face appeared above your car on the other person's screen...I loved that game.
