Gamestop ripped you off?

Has Gamestop ripped you off? Have you have tried to turn in a good game but because it was old they gave you a plastic lollipop and sent you home?

I can't think of any times but I'm sure if I returned Pokemon Leafgreen which is officially a collector's item they would give me literally five bucks. I've got some good old games. I have Link's Awakening, A Link To The Past, the Wind Waker, Majora's Mask Ocarina Of Time and Four Swords Anniversary Version.

Anyways, all of those good games probably couldn't be turned in for anything despite you can barely get them anymore. You can't even get Luigi's Mansion! looked in one store they, didn't have it. They brought up a list with all of the Gamestops that had it none (which was like 7 Gamestops) had it but one. That one Gamestop had one in stock. One. So tell us what game you tried to return what platform it's on and how much they offered you.

No, I don't go to GameStop, and when I do, I don't ever sell anything there.

I selled tp them Ty2 abig mostake by the way and 2 crash game for ps2. The result 7 dollars and a 15% porcent discount for a use game

I usually go to Gamestop all the time to look for games!



....Which I then buy off Steam or other online shops instead.
Gamestop is too expensive..

Gamestop isn't a collectors store and isn't looking to buy your old "gems", nor does it stock last gen games anymore. That's probably why they don't have Luigi's Mansion, a game that isn't being produced or distributed anymore.

Thank god I got it before it was too late then.It ended up being and awesome game.I think your right though.I remember when I was like 7 they had nintedo 64 games in this giant crate.The ones at the top were the newer ones the ones at the bottom were the unfortunate ones.Now I don't know any store that sells 64 games.

No because I'm not an idiot consumer.

I've bought a few GC games that wouldn't play past the main menu. Metroid Prime 2, mainly. I got another copy of it, but it only plays on the Gamecube- the Wii is too sensitive to play it.

Truth is? They only boot the game up. They probably don't go past the main menu.

I am disillusioned now.

Well there was the time they blacklisted my brother when the manager of the store he worked at framed him for theft/larceny.

And due to EB Games being eaten by Gamestop, Gamestop is now the only gaming store available to me that sells old/used games, so I'm forced to deal with them.

I'd also rather go buy games at Best Buy, or hell, even Target or Toys R Us... but all the Gamestops and former EB Games' are within walking distance of my house and they aren't. It's like Starbucks Cancer. In fact one of the Gamestops have a Starbucks right next to it. And two of the Gamestops are inside the same mall... on different floors. And have different stock.

I rather like EB, even though they're my competitor.
But they give me better trade in values for the odd thing here and there, and they usually have pretty decent trade in deals.

But I don't like to buy new from them. Because you know, nothing is actually new there.
They open almost every game. Very lame.

They shouldn't charge you full price when they open them.

Besides Gamestop is the only place in town that has a good game selection. The other option is Wal-Mart and dueagh.

One thing Gamestop does that I can't stand is their policy with PC titles as of late.

They apparently won't stock physical copies of some games unless they're preordered. If you try to buy one of these titles (no pre-order), they give you a download ticket.

What the hell, Gamestop? The whole reason I'd come to the store is so I don't have to download the game!

It'd be nice if they could have a service that allows you to download the games onto a USB stick at the store, especially since many internet users have data caps looming over their heads.

Find a play and trade. They sell games as far back as the Atari.

Haven't you guys ever heard of Amazon?

Play and Trade actually repair your stuff so thats another plus.

I have no clue why everyone complains about Gamestop. Yeah I wouldn't recommend trading your games in to them but they generally have a good selection of used games and if you become a member their prices are cheaper than most other stores from what I can tell.

Unless you're a PC gamer, in which case their selection is crap.

Most Gamestops I've been to employs pretentious douchebags that could care less about helping you. This isn't the case for all that I've been to of course, but it's still a problem I encounter regularly. The only time they pay me any attention is when I'm buying a new game or a console or something.
