Making a game (partly) inspired by Zelda II

Side-scrolling adventure games aren't common enough IMHO.

So I've decided to make one, it's got a bit of Zelda II, Tomba/Tombi and Platforming Goodness.

What do you think? This is a very early stage in production, but feel free to give critique or encouragement (my first ever game).

I don't need any creative ideas though, trying to be as original as possible.

Pinkie Pie thinks it is indeed a very beautiful looking game, and simple thus far in its design. Outside of that, there isn't much for Pinkie Pie to comment on, since it was a demonstration of concept and an example of the gameplay.

I am deveoping it construct 2 for HTML5 platforms.

NPC animations are partly inspired by the cute SNES era sprites of games like zelda:

Looks good, make sure to keep us updated as to your progress on it. I'd like to at least try it once you finish. I had an idea for a similar game seven odd years ago, but only ever got around to doing some art for it.

An update, here's my first enemy and game over screen.

I think I am going to release this game on PC/Mac/Chromstore. No longer going to fit on mobiles.
