Re: So I beat Chrono Trigger...

Try out a Dragon Quest game. I'd suggest IV, V, or VI. If you want a bit of a different RPG experience you can try out IX.

Re: So I beat Chrono Trigger...

Golden Sun is not that good. It's a terribly mediocre RPG. It's the only RPG I've played that drops your target if it dies. Basically, if you tell 2 people from your party to attack a monster and the first guy kills him, the second guy won't attack (literally won't acquire a new target) and that party member's turn will pass with no action from him or her. It's a sub-standard RPG that only gained popularity because it marketed itself as the GBA RPG.

Sounds like the first two Final Fantasies for the NES. Which is why I beat the first two on PSP instead.

Not really. FF6 was good and one of the best in that series, and its villain rules, but i still think Chrono Trigger blows it out of the water. Big time.

Burger Knight, try Chrono Cross if you get the chance. While its not the most amazing of sequels, its a pretty damn great game with a lot of fun continuity stuff (and some thats...kinda emotional) and its soundtrack is gr9mazing.

Also, Breath of Fire IV. DO EET!

Earthbound=Super Mario RPG>Chrono Trigger>FF6>FF4

Heiarchy of SNES RPGs that I've played. I should probably take a look at breath of fire.

Re: So I beat Chrono Trigger...

I honestly wasn't considering SMRPG because of how notoriously easy Mario games have aways been. Is it really that good?

I'm a little apprehensive about Giygas too... kind of a freaky antagonist there.

Yes, Super Mario RPG is stellar. It's the best game square soft ever made.

Square Soft made a Mario game? What planet is this again?

So has this become SNES RPG general now?

It's a Square RPG, and it doesn't exactly have the simplicity of Paper Mario. Do get it.

Apparently so.

I'll give it a shot. Gotta figure out what the decades-old hype about Geno is anyways.

You think it's weird that they made a Mario RPG? They also made a Mario basketball game.

Re: So I beat Chrono Trigger...

Super Mario RPG is a pretty good game and actually not very easy. I never finished it because theres a boss that is a royal pain in the fanny.

Re: So I beat Chrono Trigger...

I am currently playing it now. So far I am loving it. I am not that far. Maybe halfway? I plan to beat it soon if I can ever figure out where to go. lol. I can't believe I never played this a long time ago. I like the fighting style, the story is great, and the music is awesome. I'm glad I downloaded it.

Re: So I beat Chrono Trigger...

Indeed.

And sorry to all those who suggested it, but Golden Sun just wasn't for me. I had to stop after getting to the first lighthouse, it really was a frustrating and irritating experience to try and play.

Re: So I beat Chrono Trigger...

Seriously, no one's suggested Xenoblade?

An extraordinarily large and beautiful overworld that encourages and rewards exploration.

A story that is pretty god damn good, with deep, human characters (aside from Riki, but he's badass regardless).

A fun, strategic battle system (which is partially position based).

Over 150+ of total content.

I could go on.

Here's a good review from before the U.S. release was announced: Xenoblade Chronicles REVIEW PART 1 (Wii RPG by Monolith Soft) - YouTube

Re: So I beat Chrono Trigger...

Ah, Chrono Trigger... I actually first played it like a year ago, makes me wish I had this on the SNES days even though I probably wouldn't have been able to beat it alone because of my age!

Got close to beating it though, before I got distracted on other games but I'll give it another play these summer vacations.
