The May Hurray Bundle - Indie Royale

The May bundle was released today only a 5$ minimum right now, I only just became aware of this site. Games are playable DRM free, on steam and Desura.

I can't keep up with these indie bundles. It used to be just the Humble bundle (once a year, was it?), but now it's like every couple of months.

Anyway, I honestly haven't heard of any of those games besides Dungeon Defenders, but I'm totally going for it. Here in the UK the minimum is currently £3.08, which is absolutely insane for 5 games, especially since DD is like 800msp on XBLA. You might as well pay the extra for the OSTs, too.

I am playing Devil Survivor 2, and up 'till now (7th day) the entire game - save the bosses - has been easy as hell.

But this day? This is absolute bull♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥ing bull♥♥♥♥. Here's an example:

I chose Ronaldo's route, and Ronaldo is a level 62 with around 900 HP. I attack someone - a level 50 - and despite my higher level, better demons, and better skills, I STILL take around 1000 damage in one hit and DIE. I ♥♥♥♥ing DIE.

Not only that, but I can't even GRIND. I'm a higher level than these ♥♥♥♥♥es; my lowest level is around 53, and their highest - excluding Io - is a 51. I've tried every ♥♥♥♥ing tactic available to me - split into two groups of two and hit both sides. No, band together and head straight into the middle. Split into two groups to attack Io and attack the regular goes. No, wait for them. No, use warping moves to come up from behind. That didn't work? Use everyone to go for the weaker side. Didn't work? OH WELL YOU'RE OUT OF OPTIONS HAHA.


Seriously. Devil Survivor: Overclocked was the harder game overall, but this is literally worse than anything - and I mean ANYTHING - Overclocked/the first game threw at me. At least then the reason I died made sense, which was usually the lower levels of my party.

Here? I'm a higher a level and STILL lose.

I saw that as your favourite game on 3DS, question: Is it for 3DS or DS? We hardly have any SMT games here in the UK so I have no idea. I think we may have the first Devil Survivor on DS but I dunno. We only have Etrian Odyssey 1 as well, which totally sucks. I'll slit throats if IV doesn't come over for 3DS from JP.

The series is actually kinda weird with how it went. I'll just list 'em since I'm too lazy to go into detail.

Devil Survivor Overclocked (remake of the first) - 3DS
Devil Survivor 2 - DS.

Oh, and if you get any of those games you MUST remember this:

Grind like ♥♥♥♥ whenever you can. You may think it's stupid when you're winning your battles, but there will be a point in time when you need a skill you never cracked or your efforts at grinding are wasted because the Free Battles are too far below your level to do any good.

Like, seriously. ALWAYS grind when the day first starts. Get every skill available to you and THEN move on. It'll suck balls when you get to that point when you just can't do anything because you didn't crack/grind, and then you have to restart the game.

It happened to my in Overclocked, and I'm STILL afraid to pick the game back up. Was going to do it after DS2.

Yeah I don't think it's out here in the UK, but the first definitely is. I just checked Amazon. I might go and grab the first anyway though, it sounds awesome.

Damn shame Demon's Souls servers are getting shut down at the end of the month. Had many a good time broing it up with some random folk

Buy it, hold on to the codes, give it to the first person who finishes one game from each console in the retro gaming challenge. Brilliant.

I was thinking of that but I thought it'd take too long. I posted the rules in the OP. Totally gonna do some mini competition / contest in the Retro thread though, love that place.

But yeah, COMPETITION IS ON, EVERYONE GO DRAW ♥♥♥♥

DEAR LORD IT JUST GOT FIFTY TIMES WORSE

Derping around in Xenoblade whenever I can find the time, I've started to commute to work so if I'm going to get any gaming in I'll have to buy a handheld. Speaking of my work though, it's the first time I'm not going to be able to watch the press conferences themselves. Does anyone know of a website that I can access from my smartphone and view text updates of the three major (Ninty/MS/Sony) conferences?

I've been playing TERA whenever I have enough free time. Hit level 18 on my Ferret Popori Slayer and ♥♥♥♥'s so much fun.

Just so you guys know, I'm still up for buying the bundle for someone (in case you guys don't have a card to buy online with or something). There's still 3 days left so yeah.

Anyway, I finally found Rhythm Thief so I picked it up right away. The motion controlled songs suck because you can't be accurate at all, but other than that it's really great. The characters talk about the game mechanics more than I'd like ("Did you know you can collect coins to unlock songs hidden in the streets!?"), but it still has that awesome Layton vibe. You should buy it.

I just beat Mafia 2, Joe Barbaro is the best forever (I especially love his repetitive combat dialogue).
