Sony's E3 Problem

I'll leave this as short as possible. Sony has always had a problem leaking/revealing/talking about a product 1 or 2 months before E3. Look at Playstation All-Stars, it could have been a good reveal at E3 but they decide to reveal it now.Then comes E3 when people already know hat games they are going to reveal. At least Microsoft and Nintendo barely if at all do this.

I don't understand; how does "leaking" work? Do dishonest people in the companies sell the info for a profit, or hackers steal the info from their computers? Maybe the companies purposefully let out the info and pretend that it was stolen from them, like I have a gut feeling about Ubisoft doing with the Rayman Legends "trailer." Somebody please explain this to me!

There is no universal law that dictates that companies need to wait until an expo to reveal their games. It seems to me that you're just looking for reasons to criticize or insult Sony now. This fanboyish attitude is not appreciated.

There is no law, but it would be better to wait until such event to reveal their products especially with one of the biggest gaming events a month away.

For the last three years, we've known Microsoft's full E3 lineup weeks before E3...

How do you know that this isn't just to build hype before the expo, and that they don't have a ♥♥♥♥load of games we don't know about behind the scenes?

I hardly think that Playstation All-Stars would have made up their whole presentation, and it's clear that they will have other things to show (such as the PS4, maybe).

You never gave any examples of past examples, either. A recent mishap hardly means "always"; rather, it means "recent". I'd like to know what they leaked before E3 in past years, as well.

Again, it's too early to be calling them out. Nothing is known about their presentation yet. They need to prioritize, and I doubt a crossover fighting game would be too big of a deal to the general Sony fanbase, so perhaps starting the hype early isn't particularly a bad thing.

When they have a lot of core titles to reveal and only a few hours to get it all shown, they need to decide what the fans would want to see the most of. I think more of the typical system updates and games like God of War: Ascension are going to a much bigger deal in their show.


And yes, the other companies are responsible for doing the same thing. MK7 and most 3ds titles from E3 iirc announced prior to E3 last year yet were still shown. I expect Nintendo to show more Mario Tennis footage as well as Wii U/ 3DS New Super Mario Bros too.

Announcing titles is different from revealing it and then showing minutes of gameplay. We knew about the Wii U before E3 but Nintendo didn't release a video of it .

ITT: I hate Sony so I'll make them out to be the only bad ones at E3!

As others have said Nintendo's guilty of it also. We knew a lot of what was happening for Zelda's 25th yet they still made a huge fuss about it at the start of the conference. The only real 'shocker' they had in recent E3s was DKCR, which was more of a nostalgia trip than anything.

This thread reeks of fanboyism.

Probably just me, but this thread should've been made after Sony presents it's stuff at E3

Ridge Racer sucks.

Anyhow, Sony's E3 has sucked for the last several years so there's no reason to think it won't now.

Some games to get Vita out of the dust, hyping the PS3 for another year, and that's it.

Also, wtf is with people thinking PS4 will be announced this year?! Sony already said NO. Time to take out them illiterate ones.

I honestly don't see how this is so bad. Most people don't even watch E3 aside from those who have a really huge interest in video games, and even then you have to really like consoles/handhelds, as that seems to be where most of the news comes from.

E3 is not the end-all-be-all of video game conferences. In fact I can't really think of one that encompasses enough of the gamer population to even be relevant.
