Of course there will be, though I wouldn't expect it for the better part of a decade TBH. A redesign of the 3DS though I wouldn't be surprised if there was one shown before the end of the year, likely at E3.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I doubt phones will replace handheld gaming, for the same reason they haven't replaced cameras, despite the technology already being there. No matter how good the phones get, there will always be a dedicated device that does it better. The market for handheld gaming systems may become smaller, with only hobbyists buying them, but they will always exist in some form.
