Games You Love, but Everyone Else Hates

Note: the character shown in this video is not me. I just found it on the internet and it touched me because I can relate to it.

This game is amazing. Excellent story, excellent world, gameplay CAN be really deep at times. Most importantly, though, the community is by far and away the best community I've seen in an online game. Every time I go back to playing the game for a month or so I'm greeted by my ls and friends as if they were family and that puts a big smile on my face. The game has it's fair share of elitist jerks but most people are pretty awesome. It's one of those games most people don't like but has an incredibly loyal cult following.

I'm not sure if the Kingdom Hearts series counts?

I've seen plenty of people who like it, and very vocal individuals who insist it's practically the gaming equivalent of leprosy. So by this point, I don't know if there's a sufficient amount of hate directed at the series to say generally everyone hates it or not...if so, that. It's my favourite series.

Other than that...FFXIII/XIII-2?

Oh, besides Call of Duty and Halo, I have never seen as much hate for any series ever, than I have seen for Kingdom Hearts. People act as if Superman was a better game than it. I must say, although I am not a big fan of the series, I think that the game works and plays well, my problem is that it gets repetitive, and the story is nothing to write home about.

Phantom Hourglass, Twilight Princess, Super Mario Sunshine, Brawl, Pokemon BW

Final Fantasy: Dirge of Cerberus. I don't have it anymore, but I had an absolute blast playing it the first time. I loved it. I ended up selling it for grocery money, though.

Lost Kingdoms: Every review I read of this game called it a pile of crap, which I never understood. The game was fun and original. The graphics were so-so and the characters were flat, but it was still a really fun game. I mean, magic cards, tough princesses, references to mythological creatures (the Hydra, Sphinx, ect) a badass heroine-counterpart, AND a final boss named The God of Destruction!? I loved it.

Fable 3.
I get the hate, and I haven't seen so many (game breaking) glitches put in one game, but I enjoyed it while it lasted. Well, until my save glitched at least.

Pretty much every Nintendo game. :\

I wanted to play the Fable games for so long, even though all the people around me told me about how ♥♥♥♥ty the games past F:TLC were, but then I played Fable 3 and had a blast. It's entirely illogical and I probably only enjoy it in an ironic sense, since I do a good bit of faffing about in the game, but it's so fun for me.

I love Tony Hawk: Pro Skater for N64.

I have only heard about how it annoys people

This game. This. Game. If there's any franchise that I really, really want rebooted in a true and complete way, it's this one. Is it sad that I think this game has the best world out of all the series titles I've played? The sort of lighthearted story and art direction, as well as the soundtrack, were all fantastic as well.

The main thing I think it suffered from was being a bit TOO RPG-lite, something that's been compounded with the more recent DS installments. Take the core concept and flesh it out with an open world, and I think you'd have the most successful FF branding ever.

If that's what you liked it for you may as well just play Eternal Sonata.

That bad, eh? Guess I'm fortunate enough to have only seen a few annoying individuals bashing my favourite series.

I rather like the story myself. I understand it's not perfect, or the greatest thing ever written, but I don't see most of the problems other people say they see.

Duke Nukem Forever was a pretty bad, outdated game. But I knew what to expect.
I certainly don't love it, but I like it. I'm not butt hurt about it because it was exactly what I expected.
A clunky, badly paced, dated shooter with hilarious dialogue. Meh. Worth the 5$, I guess.

I'm a big fan of Modern Warfare 2.
I hear a lot of ♥♥♥♥ about the series, but whatever. I couldn't care less. They're fun, so blow me..
I liked MW2 the most though. Best maps out of every game, best guns, most arcade like unlocking scheme, most balanced perks (baring that god damn danger close/commando) and just best general "feel" of any game in the series. Not really sure how to describe it.

Tales of Symphonia. Now, i'm not sure if everyone hates it, but just at least as many people that like it hate it.
And I like it pretty much for the reasons everyone hates it. Like the awesome story, that I guess everyone thinks it terribly cliche.
I've played a fair amount of RPG, and it certainly does have it's fair share of tropes, but I really didn't think it was a cliche story.
But, meh. To each his own.

Resident Evil 5
People are upset that this was more of an action game. Oh well. RE's horror days are pretty much over. hit up Fatal Frame, Silent hill or maybe Amnesia or something if you still need that fix. If you look at RE5 as an action game, it's a pretty solid game. At least, I thought it was anyway.

Oh, and FFXIII1/2.
Loved them. Best in the series.

Kirby 64. Seems like it's really unpopular among the Kirby fanbase, which I find odd because it is by far the most enjoyable Kirby game for me.

Also Twilight Princess and Super Mario Sunshine. Although I don't think that Sunshine is that hated, Twilight Princess definitely is.

Oh, and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. They're very hated these days. They were so much more fun than Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald IMO.

Resident Evil 1 through 5 are all great.

loved that game. Combat was ass but it's one of the only mainstream RPG's I've ever played that actually does choice and consequence right.
