What would you wish for in the gaming world?

What would make you extremely happy if a certain something was announced?

Example: certain developers to work together on a project, a sequel of something, a new series, remake of something, old series brought back etc.

The two main things that would make me incredibly happy are:

Nintendo buy back Rare

and

Square and Nintendo to work together on a Super Mario RPG sequel

I have even had dreams about these coming true... and been really mad when I wake up.

For Square to go back to their roots. Their older RPGs were freaking gold. After the 9th Final Fantasy game, their stuff just...went kinda south. Needlessly complicated and over dramatic story lines. Im not necessarily saying they need to make the next Chrono Trigger (in terms of a game being universally loved.), but i am saying they should go back to the simpler ways of doing things. Sometimes less is more.

Nintendo to by back Rare, or at least Microsoft actually ♥♥♥♥ing doing something useful with Rare.

Nintendo to buy SEGA (although it's looking that in a few years this might very well happen)

Would Sega do it though? Cuz they make money on being multiplatform....

They do make money being multiplatform but the large majority of their games are being released for Nintendo systems nowadays, plus there is the whole Mario and Sonic teamup games. I'm sure it's only a matter of time. Another one of Sega's main criticisms of it's games are their quality which I'm sure if Nintendo bought them that would be fixed up overnight with Nintendo members joining Sega teams. I feel it's only a matter of time before Nintendo offers to buy them.

This. I mean, with the exception of Tri-Ace, they really don't put out any original content themselves besides their main series. The World Ends With You was great, and we need more new IPs, or even just RPGs that won't have a sequel.

Why should Nintendo buy back Rare? Why would that change anything?

I'd love to see SEGA come back and do their own console. They make a lot of successful multiplatform games these days, so if they stopped doing it for other companies and instead made them exclusive to their own console, that would be awesome.

But Blizz, you might say, SEGA's gone downhill with games like Sonic and the like. They don't deserve their own console! Well, says I, methinks that if they had their own console again, the pressure of competition would bring out the best in them. So shaddup.

I wish:

For Platinum to acquire the rights to Godhand, Viewtiful Joe, Okami and Devil May Cry. Platinum must also do a full console remake of Infinite Space.

For Kojima Productions and Platinum to work on the next console Zone of the Enders.

For Ninja Theory to develop games similar to Alice: The Madness, simply because of their art direction. But they have a mediocre handling on action.

For Valve to release Episode 3.

For Monolith Soft to create a grand-scaled RPG for the WiiU (judging from what they did with Xenoblade.. just imagine it... phew).

For Nintendo to allow the option to use a normal controller instead of a motion controller for Zelda titles.

For Bioware to stop cutting out pieces of the games that they're too lazy to fix or tweak for the sequels (Mass Effect, ho!)

For Final Fantasy to go down a more action-based gameplay route (like what we're seeing in Versus and The Last Story), while still retaining familiar RPG elements.

For Tango Gameworks (Shinji Mikami's studio) to be actually working on something.

EDIT:

For Pokemon to try a new formula for battles. Be it controlling your pokemon on the battlefield, similar to a Tales game, or deeper combat system.

For ATLUS to develop a new Raidou ARPG console game

For CAPCOM to stop making games and go under.

For Vanillaware to create another console action game like Muramasa, with an amazing artstyle, but probably within a different setting and gameplay.

For Platinum to do a sequel or follow-up to Vanquish that's packed with content.

For Retro to make a Banjo Kazooie game.

Some Nintendo wishes:

1. Get rid of the stupid Wiiware file size limit.

2. Include an SD card with each Wii system. 2-8 gigs sounds about right. You did it with the 3DS.

3. VC games updated to play online multiplayer.

4. Oracle of Ages and Seasons on the 3DS eshop. NOW.

Rare is just a broken shadow of what it used to be. It doesn't matter who owns them now; the golden age of Rare is long past.

I got another wish.

I want a crazy action Jackie Chan video game. You can wield almost anything in the environment. Ladders, chairs, tables, plates. Anything.

No Trouble Mode only has the player use dodge and counters and cannot attack.

New Game+ lets you dual wield ladders

More JRPG's

VC games to be updated to have online.

Four Swords game for WiiWare with online.

A full remake of the first two Zelda games.

Manufacture the NES and its games just because.

All VC games Japan got that we didn't get, in English/Engrish.

For ATLUS to bring that sequel to Odin Sphere to the United States.
