Resident Evil 6 rumors: Playable Chris and Leon!

Resident Evil 6: Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy Playable
As a potential announcement approaches, more details about Capcom's next horror game emerge.

For the first time in Resident Evil history, Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield will both be playable characters in Capcom's ambitious six main entry in its survival horror series. Sources within the development team have started to give IGN a broad picture of the game's scope, which certainly seems larger than any Resident Evil title we've seen so far. This news comes on the heels of the leaked logo and release date for the game.

Chris Redfield and Leon Kennedy will not be alone in this new game. Both Chris and Leon will have unnamed partners of their own, teaming up in similar fashion to the Chris Redfield/Jessica Sherawat and Jill Valentine/Parker Luciani pairings in Resident Evil Revelations. Sources tell us Chris and Leon will have seperate stories in the game that will eventually overlap in some capacity.

We're also told Ada Wong will have a playable role in the game, though not immediately. It appears as though the Ada storyline will become available to players after the Chris and Leon arcs have been completed, plus a third primary narrative featuring a new character. Any of the three main story branches will be selectable early on in the game, allowing players to see each storyline through to completion before starting another one.

Resident Evil 6 is also set to take place across the globe, including China, which has been an often-rumored location for months. VentureBeat reports the RE6 development team is the "same internal Japanese team that has worked on previous entries." That same report suggests this game is being styled after both Resident Evil 4 and 5, attempting to find a middle ground between horror and action.

When contacted, Capcom stated it would not comment on rumors, reports or speculation. IGN sources have also given us the Resident Evil 6 logo and release date.

Capcom is expected to officially reveal - or continue to tease - Resident Evil 6 later today through its viral "No Hope Left" site. Stay tuned for more.

Having just played through the Revelations demo I'm more pumped than ever. NOOO!vember.

Nah I rather play revelation then this resident evil 6 because revelation feel more like a traditional resident evil game with limited ammo and claustrophobic atmosphere that the original had.
I gonna personally ignore resident evil 4, resident evil 5 and resident 6 just because I go back to the past and play Resident evil as it was before 4 a more survival driven game not a Call of duty Black ops zombie mode.

I wouldn't count your chickens before they hatch.
Fortunately, it looks like they're due to hatch possibly in the next few hours.

Here's to hoping they change directions a bit with this game. I;m growing tired of this series. Too much action.
So I hope they do a 180 here and change things up a bit.

How can you reject a game before any info about it is released? Seriously RE5 was the only action game in the series. Don't drag RE4 into it just because RE5 was horrible.

I recently replayed 4, and it wasn't as good as I remembered. But still miles better than 5. 4 was action oriented, but at least it had some creepy atmosphere. 5 didn't even have that.

As long as it's more like four and less like five, then count me in. And no more forced co-op, please.

Trailer is kind of an even split between dark and creepy horror stuff (Leon/Tall Oaks portion) and crazy action (everything else). I wonder if that's how the game is going to be as well?

My sister is going to be pissed.

Anyway, looks interesting. You can tell that some sections are going to be even more like Gears of War than what Resident Evil 5 tried to do. But, if they can manage to balance out the action with a creepy atmosphere (which 5 failed at), then it'll be good.

Holy ♥♥♥♥ that was awesome. It looks like Leon has more survival horror gameplay, and Chris is more actiony, and the other guy is pure action.

2012 is a good year for RE.

Hence the term purist/nostalgia fag.
And the reson why I ignoring these games was because the game will retain the action driven feel that 5 and in truth resident evil 4 and 5 doesn't feel more like the Call of duty Black ops Zombie mode then a 90s survival horror games along the line of resident evil which started the genre in the first place so that going away from the original format not evolving and improving on it.

Just what I was about to say. RE5 was in March of 2009. The Raccoon City incident was in September of 1998.
