And those six characters pretty made up the elite levels of play. Brawl has it's own problems with Meta Knight, but it has far more viable characters than Melee ever did. |

Brawl had like, three "OP" characters (yes, including the ridiculous Metaknight), but as Jeff said above, there are only 6~ characters who are viable to kickass with in melee. Slow characters were an absolute
joke in
SSBM, whereas they are a pretty legitimate pick in Brawl.
Speed was the only factor in melee. Nothing else matted. Sure, Peach wasn't the fastest character, was still viable, but for the most part, speed kills.
