Anyway i was doing yet another fun run in FE7 last night while trying to use Rebecca. Guess what...doing that made my whole team suffer. THE WHOLE TEAM! I actually restarted the entire run itself (even Lyn mode), because it was just bad and Eliwood and Sain were getting attacked by the RNG gremlins. Yeah im never using or attempting to use Rebecca again! ♥♥♥♥ that ♥♥♥♥♥!

Rebecca was one of my best units... =(

Yeah i did. RNG gremlins. She was at level 10 (first tier) before i restarted. Her strength....was at 5....5!!!! Plus feeding her kills to even get to that level made other units suffer. It was a bad time....

Wow, I've never been ♥♥♥♥ed so hard with Rebecca. She's always a really good unit for me, when I use her. I'm at FFO and I have her at level 20 Sniper, thanks to Arena-whoring.

I wouldn't say "don't use Rebecca again" because of this. Just bad luck. But it seems to me that part of the problem was the fact that you were focusing too much on her, which made everyone else hurt. If you are really having a lot of problems with her, save her for the Arena.

Also, are there different base levels for characters from Lyn's Story if you didn't play it, or are they just at their Lyn's Story base?

Good lord, 9 levels and 1 point of strength to show for it? That's obscene.

I believe that if you don't play Lyn's Story then everybody starts with their Lyn Mode stats when recruited in the main story. That includes Wallace starting out as a General with the stats of a level 10 Knight (but why are you using Wallace in the first place, hypothetical person?).

But yeah, always do Lyn Mode.

@Tonch: That's a lot better than mine. Mine only outclasses yours in speed and HP. She also has a higher Battle/Win ratio.

I thought you got him right at level 10. Wow, I've taken a longer break from the game than I thought.

I was wrong, though, everyone who was in Lyn's Story gets some small stat boosts if it's skipped. Wallace still starts as a level 1 General, though.

Wait, apparently I'm wrong again and only Wallace gets any stat improvements. Herpderp

No i always do Lyn mode. Always. Because Florina is yes. I wasnt focusing that much on Rebecca as one would think. She was just...really becoming a problem. I dont usually use archers in that game unless their name is Rath. Maybe ill give her another shot but damn dude..That file had the worst RNG ive seen in ages...

Also Wallace comes into Lyn mode at level 10 Knight. If you promote him then, he'd be 10/20. Since hes far from worth it, i never deal with him. I do think that when you find him again in Hector/Eliwood mode and hes not promoted, hes level 12 or something.

Wallace isn't necessarily bad, it's just that his competition is Oswin, and that's a fight nobody's going to win.

Well theres that...but theres also the level you get him in which is....ugh....UGH!!! Avoid at all costs.

How good is Wallace if you leave him unpromoted and then train him to level 20 Knight before promoting him, generally speaking? With Oswin around, it's more trouble than it's worth and it's better to just have Geitz and never use him anyway than have Wallace around, but I'm kinda curious.

It's been so long since I've played FE8, now that I'm beginning it on the 3DS I'm trying to figure out who to keep.

I already stripped Seth and Garcia of their weapons so they don't waste my experience.
I'll probably work on Vanessa (and Tana when I get her, promote one to a Wyvern Rider and the one to a Falcon Knight), I'll probably keep Lute, Ross, Franz... I dunno about Moulder, probably not him...

Any suggestions about who I should ditch and who I should keep in the first batch of chapters?

One LP of SS that I watched involved Gundam Gilliam ♥♥♥♥ing ♥♥♥♥ up all over the place, so you have that. I don't entirely know about Franz, to be honest. If I recall, I believe Kyle is supposed to be the best of the Cavaliers, not including Amelia.

I do remember about Amelia being good so I'm going to have my eye on her later on. Gilliam is another one I was planning on keeping. I guess for now I'll use the units I know for sure I'm keeping (Vanessa, Gilliam, Ross) until I figure out the rest a little later.

I dont know, Rich. I never trained Wallace because...why? lol! I never get the FFO version with him in it anyway. I think Oswin has better growths though...actually...he does. Observe:

Wallace HP:70 Strength: 45 Skill: 40 Speed: 20 Luck: 30 Def: 35 Res: 35

Oswin HP: 90 Str: 40 Skill: 30 Speed: 30 Luck: 35 Def: 55 Res: 30

So only thing Wallace has on Oswin is skill and res. (and maybe strength) But really...why bother.

Tonchy, ummm....If youre gonna make one of the pegs a wyvern knight, do it to Vanessa. The strength bonus helps her. Leave Tana as a Falcon Knight. Moulder is ok. His speed is a little meh but hes got beastly con for a freaking priest! I like L'Arachel so i often use her. Which route are you taking? Also Joshua, always Joshua! (Forde and/or Kyle is pretty good too)
