Re: New gamecube

Eeesh! They just want the game consoles to get better and better so that players have to upgrade more and more, and spend more and more, eh?

I'm kind of annoyed even though new consoles are more powerful and can provide a better gaming experience. But every four to six years, I have to buy a new one because there are new games for new consoles since the old ones are out of date and no gaming industry wants to continue producing games for those....

Re: New gamecube

I personally have to agree with the avatar stealer. All the current systems are plenty powerful enough...

But, unfortunately, the systems make less and less money every year after being released... so they make new ones to increase the income. Economics... blarg.

Oh hell yeah! I can't wait for the Nintendo Revolution to come out (Even though if the name for it seems tacked on) I'm really exited about it and I can't wait to see the games It's gonna have on it. ^.^

Re: New gamecube

On the first day of E3, right before Nintendo showed the Zelda trailer in their press conference, the president of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, came onstage and said a few words. He said that Nintendo is working on a successor to the GameCube, and that the DS is a taste of what is to come. He said that the new system will cause a "gaming revolution," and that he would tell everyone the specifics of it, but he won't because they don't matter, and finally that it would be unveiled next E3. If you want the video, you can download it from planetgamecube.com (provided it's still up there).

The next day, he revealed that Project Revolution is the official codename for it.

If you want proof, just search gamespot.com for "revolution" and you should find what you need. I'm too lazy to search for it. If anybody wants to, go ahead.

Also, a bit after E3, Iwata announced that Revolution will also be able to hook up to a computer monitor as well as to a TV (but it won't use a dual-screen function).

Re: New gamecube

This is pretty old news, so it's supposeed to revolutionize gaming...I'd like to know how so...virtual reality online gameplay? Stick you hand into an orb and use that as controls? Put the system on your head and to a rain dance to get it to turn on? the possibilities are endless with Nintendo.

Re: New gamecube

I'm doubting that the name "Revolution" will stick, as is the case for most things. I too wonder what Nintendo will do for this "Revolution" of theirs. Whatever it could be, it's almost unfathomable to me at the moment. As it would be for the people that don't work in that particular area at Nintendo.

Re: New gamecube

I'll be happy, just as long as they 'revolutionize' in the same direction as the Gamecube did. More and better Nintendo trademark games, and possibly Final Fantasy? A slew of online-compatible games (but not online ONLY games) would be a plus for Nintendo, but doesn't affect me at all.

Re: New gamecube

Yeah if anyone was paying attention they called it, "Teh Revoluuution." At E3 2004. I wouldn't doubt that its coming out 2006, because Sony is doing the same thing with the PSX and Microsfot is launching the Xbox2 earlier than both of them. I'm not sure which I'm going to get, but I'm placing my bets on the PSX then I'll get the Revolution...dunno about Xbox2, because I'm happy with Halo and Fable ^_^

Re: New gamecube

I've heard of this, I don't know much about it, though.

Known about it for quite a while, but thena agin, Nintendo seemsw to like to release a new system every two years or so. So it was expected. You couldn't expect them to stay gamecube forever, could you?

Anyways, before I post more, I would like to know a bit more about this system.

Re: New gamecube

I remember an article talking about the possibilities that the new gamecube (codename: Nintendo Revolution) will be able to do. Here's what the article had to say:

Quote:
Befitting Nintendo's singular style, the company is holding its cards very close to its chest regarding its future system. At E3, Iwata announced that work has already begun on this platform. He teased gamers about the Revolution, coming within a hair of discussing specs. Instead he quipped, "I won't for a simple reason: they really don't matter". At a recent meeting in Japan, he said that the system could be hooked up to a PC monitor, and would, as its code-name suggests, offer something new in gaming. "It will be clearly distinct from the other next generation consoles that competing companies will develope. What's important isn't next generation technology, but a next generation way of playing games". Chips for the system are being made by both ATI and IBM- the two companies also working on Xbox Next. Some rumors claim that Revolution spors dual 1.8 GHz PowerPC processors and a 500 MHz graphics chip, while others point to a 2.7 GHz PowerPC G5 processor and a 600 MHz graphics chip. There is also an alleged 15 GB hard drive, but none of these specs can be confirmed. Nintendo's unveiling of the DS handheld signaled the company exploration technology such as Wi-Fi and voice recognition, but it has yet to outline whether it will take the plunge with a full-fledged online poicy for the Revolution.

The GameCube was debuted at the fall SpaceWold in 2000, and it launched less than a year later. Nintendo seems to be following the same pattern if it unveils Revolution at next year's E3 and brings it out by the end of 2005.
And if you care to read about what others have said in the past about the Revolution (in this very forum....about 5 months ago....don't post there please) please click here

Re: New gamecube

I personally can't wait for it to come out, but wait a second...

Zelda 2005, isn't that supposed to be a GC title, soo The NR (Nintendo Revolution) Is coming out almost after it, right, that would mean, well I don't exactly know, except, they could be hiding from us that the Zelda2005 will be on the NR, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
