ditto. I might have about a dozen hours, and if I remember correctly I'm in that cave with mechons where you go to look for Juju and Sharla's bf.
It's a good game for sure, but not as good as all the hype around it imo. I will say it has some great music and I do really like the game, but it doesn't pull me in to love it quite as much as other japanese based games like Pokemon and Kingdom Hearts.

So, I forgot to make 7th's weapon in the central factory of the Mechonis. Is she going to be able to get better weapons, or did I miss out on her best?

^ Yup, pretty much this. I don't think I've ever even used that weapon - I just did the quest for the sake of completion.

Re: Xenoblade discussions

I cleared the game at 190 hours, but I'm using a pre-final battle save to go back and get the extra skill trees.

This is by far my favorite game ever.

Do all the playable characters have 5 skill tree branches?
I think I missed some of the early quests, maybe; so I hope that I didn't lose the opportunity to get all the branches.

Well, Riki is a true Heropon!
Did you do the quests with the Nopon Sage?
I thought it was funny.

I really enjoyed the game ~ but I'm afraid that I'm getting close to completing all the quests (other than, maybe, some of the collection quests or others that you lose the ability to do after a while).

Re: Xenoblade discussions

I finally got this game a few nights ago. I played it nonstop and then my classic controller died. I used the original Wii controllers afterwards (To less effect). So far the story is definitely really good, I didn't think Nintendo was capable of making such an believable and compelling plot. I look forward to seeing what this developer has in store for Wii-U.

My team I used is Rikki, Sharla and Shulk.

I think I'm severally under leveled, I guess I should get grinding. It wouldn't be a JRPG without level grinding.

Re: Xenoblade discussions

It's more Monolith Soft than Nintendo. Monolith Soft is owned by Nintendo though.

Also, the game is made so you don't need to grind a lot. I only grinded before the final boss because I was like 6 levels under.

Gained two levels and was able to take him.

Re: Xenoblade discussions

I agree about the grinding, insaney ~ I only needed to grind to be able to do the Tephra Cave quests near the end (which seemed to require a level higher than to beat the game since I did the quests after the final boss, but on a previous save). I had to keep fighting those gogols to bring my level up. Maybe there were better monsters to grind on, I don't know.

It's still licensed by Nintendo and I've never seen a Nintendo owned game have such a deep story, except maybe The Last Story.

As for the object of grinding, it really depends. If you don't do quests you're going to need to do some leveling up. Quests and achievements give you by far the most experience.

I personally only like the fetch quests in this game, call me crazy.

The rest of the quests are just "Talk to a random person, play the game and then you get rewards without even knowing. Yay"

I ignored most of the quests in my first playthrough. You get experience for everything.

Re: Xenoblade discussions

Another issue arose for me. Most apparently the fact that money really doesn't do much. You get more than enough weapons and armor through enemies and quests, the latter of which is basically effortless. Conclusively, the weapons you get from the vendors falter in comparison to the looted weapons. Not to mention the fact that most are severally over priced, even if you sale your items and never purchase any.

Wow, I haven't wrote a cohesive post in a while. I really am rusty.

Re: Xenoblade discussions

There were two shops I found useful (start of Sword Valley and then later when you've completed Colony 6 reconstruction), and then I think I was able to find several manuals for skills not yet learnt.

I agree that money wasn't really useful. I got the feeling that it was there just to prevent the player from buying 6 of everything. *shrug*

My best weapons came from some surprise quests and then, maybe, during some recent quests that involve areas/monsters with level over 85.

Re: Xenoblade discussions

I'm almost 40 hours into the game, and I feel like I still haven't reached the main concern of the story. Just got to Sword Valley. Usually in rpgs I've played the main character has his personal reasons to start his ''adventure,'' but gets wrapped up in something more. That something more hasn't been established yet and, again, I'm 40 hours in. I love the richness of the game. I've never enjoyed exploring and collecting this much. I also wanna rebuild colony 6 so bad haha. This is nuts All I can say is, thank God that operation rainfall worked lol.

Did you replace your weapons with Anit Mechon weapons available at the shop?

I don't always use Shulk in my team ~ so the antimechon weapons give more freedom. And enchant has a time limit, I think.
