Re: Online Play on GCN?
Yeah, there's only a handful of online games though. I can think of two, for sure (Phantasy Star Online Eps. I & II, PSO Ep. III and I think The Sims is on GC as well), there's probably more, but not many, I'll wager.
Personally, I wouldn't buy the adapter. There's not enough for you to do with the GC's online capabilities for it to be worth it. And even if you were into games like say, the two phantasy Star Online titles, there's an extra service charge for playing those specific games. I don't think that applies to all of them, but again, they've neglected the 'Cubes online potential and there simply aren't enough games that you can play with it. That's my opinion anyways. Save your money. |

Re: Online Play on GCN?
The only game you can play online really is Phantasy Star. Nintendo really needs to do something about this for the Revolution. Otherwise they'll be one or two steps behind. Or three.
And no, I don't. DOn't see the need, because Phantasy Star games bored the hell out of me...an RPG lover..

Re: Online Play on GCN?
Warp pipe.
http://www.warppipe.com/ This little application runs on your comp, your GCN's BBA runs through to that, and thus you can play online on games like MK , 1080:Avalanche and all other LAN supported games. The creators of Warp Pipe have something in store for the DS as well. Keep an eye or ear out for that.

Re: Online Play on GCN?
I was just about to bring up Warp Pipe. Other than that though, the GCN has too little, too late in the online department. They hyped up the feature at launch, but dropped that in favor of the GCN-GBA bullcrap. (Nice novelty, I might add, but not a replacement for online play)
Nintendo had always been known for sick multiplayer games, and lack of online was a huge problem. How many of us spent days on end playing Perfect Dark on the N64? Nintendo lost two things crucial to the GCN: -Rare -Online Play Perfect Dark online would've been THE online game to own. Whatever system that comes out for, I'm going to have. Anyways, Nintendo better get off it's ass when it comes to online for it's next system. |
