The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Buggier than a lollipop in an antfarm

Hey guys!

Are any of you stoked on the upcoming release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim?!

If you are, what kind of character are you going to make? What skills are you mainly going to boost? What is the feature you're most looking forward to? Compared to Oblivion do you think the developers have headed in the right direction?!

Silly question's not related to the game, have you pre-ordered your copy? If not then why? Are you going to get the special edition or just regular? And why?

I'm excited but I'm not sure what character I should make. I'm thinking of a Nordic Cleric Warrior. So I will be mainly boosting strength, magic, and stashing on potions. I think I might even get into making my own potions. I am happy they made the perk tree however I'm going to miss when you could boost your jump so you could jump over mountains. I played Morrowind first due to my computer being crappy. Great game and I got lost in the world and always felt that sense of adventure.

I think the developer has headed in the right direction! I can't wait for the game to come out!

I have already pre-ordered it however I am not going for the special edition because I feel that its too expensive for what its worth. I wouldn't mind the box edition of the game however I feel that I could always buy it on ebay for cheaper.

What are your answers and opinions of the game?!

Oh? Well I thought I could make my own topic asking questions about the game. That topic seemed a little too general to me so I added questions to structure it? I dunno I guess you could be the judge of my post.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Buggier than a lollipop in an antfarm

Can't say much about the gameplay, but I know I'll love Skyrim because of the game world. Skyrim looks beautiful graphically, but it also looks much more culturally deep and interesting than the "middle earth 2.0" version of Cyrodiil we saw in Oblivion. The released screenshots we've seen of Roman-looking Imperials are very promising. The races look awesome as well.

I think I might play an Orc for the first time in my Elder Scrolls career. They look so ♥♥♥♥ing cool in Skyrim and I think I might roll 2 handed weapons and light armor because you're not an Orc if you're not playing a barbarian. I might consider axes and fire magic though. Might chew at enemies at first with an axe/flames combo and then whip out my bigass warhammer and crack some skulls. But dual wielding looks awesome too! And magic looks incredible, I might just roll straight mage. I don't want to think about it right now there's just too many choices lol. I know one thing's for sure though, I'm definitely playing an Orc for the first playthough.

I'm really excited. I want to make it my goal to cleanse Skyrim of Khajiit scum. One thing I hated about Oblivion is that they let those ♥♥♥♥ers out of their cages.

it looks a lot better than oblivion, grapic-wise, hopefully gameplay as well. Skyrim seems like an awsome place to discover new things and enemies. I am probably going to go through it sword/ice combo and maybe a bow secondary for some ranged sneek attacks

I preordered it, but not the Special edition.

I always choose a Bosmer Warrior Mage for my first character, and I'm hoping to have a lot of fun with them. The land looks beautiful.....enough to ravage and destroy. Can't Wait!

Really? That seems like a tricky character. Bosmer can make great characters but warriors or mages they are not.

I can see where you're coming from, but the one problem I have with your post is here:

Have you not played Morrowind or are you just joking here? Now I can't say anything for the Souls series, but compared to Dragon Age, The Elder Scrolls has a MUCH more interesting and unique take on the western fantasy genre. I really saw absolutely nothing unique with Dragon Age's lore when I played the game, the whole thing felt like another bland clone of Lord of the Rings. Bethesda took this direction with Oblivion as well, going against everything that was said about Cyrodiil in the books from Morrowind but that was a ♥♥♥♥ty game anyway. But compared to Dragon Age I'd still say the Elder Scrolls has a much more realized and atmospheric than Dragon Age.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Buggier than a lollipop in an antfarm

I'm very tempted to get Skyrim, though with my crappy PC, I'm going to wait to see if Skyrim is really going to be one of the games of the year. I loved Morrowind, and enjoyed Oblivion a fair bit as it had better gameplay and graphics. Personally I hope werewolves make a return. I quite liked playing as a vampire in Oblivion, but some bugs and quirks really made it annoying at times. Mods are good.

Werewolves are confirmed not being in Skyrim.
They hinted that they might make a return in DLC, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. And there should be a mod for it sometime after launch, anyway.
I can't get the PC version, though. My computer's too crap to run it.

Very tricky, and lots of times it's hard to make it work, but I adore a challenge.

Dragon Age manages to succeed by at least going for a bloody dark fantasy feel. Oblivion, nor Morrowind, never felt like anything other than "this is what you'll find in your average trashy fantasy novel sequel at Barnes & Noble."
That's pretty much what the games are about though. I'm sure Bethesda would resent the whole "generic" part (but really the only game in the series that had a unique world was Morrowind), but their games really are just fantasy worlds to romp around in. Bethesda puts a big emphasis on telling your own story. I'm looking forward to Skyrim solely for the new slice of Nirn to explore.

wait I'd be lying if I said that. After seeing G4's Skyrim show the shouts look pretty ♥♥♥♥ing cool

I understand that everyone has their own opinion, however can we keep cliché and generic out of this? If you don't like this game I think you are not the targeted audience? Not to be rude but its pretty redundant to say something is cliché and/or generic. Reason I'm saying this is to try to keep it positive.

Yeah, as they stand those terms are very ambiguous and loosely defined.

EDIT: New Trailer!

pretty hokey if you ask me. Didn't feel much like TES.

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Buggier than a lollipop in an antfarm

I find that trailor to be what the game should feel like. xD People panicking and Dovakin standing up to Alduin. I didn't see all the races however that feeling of panic would make the game a little more indepth than people just standing around or running in circles like oblivion was kind of like. I can't wait for this game! That trailer made me even more excited!

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Buggier than a lollipop in an antfarm

My biggest problem with that movie? Apparently, everyone in Skyrim is either Imperial, Breton or Nord. There wasn't a single beast or mer in that trailer. That's what made it not feel like TES to me. If the stampede of people had some ash-colored faces mixed in, with an argoinian or two and maybe even a Redguard it would've been much better.

Maybe they didn't want to CG/get some make-up artists for this trailer...
Which still doesn't excuse the no-Redguard thing. Oh well, I guess.

Isn't Skyrim supposed to be in a state of racism fuel civil war? It would make sense for there to be none of the non-white races.
