If anyones interested, I'm looking for some people interested in helping me build a city on my server. Shoot me a PM if that sounds like your cup of tea. I just had to start a new world because the server crashed and lost data, and my backup is apparently corrupted.

Renovation/reinvention of Port Serenity's ember district is now in full swing.

In support of this, Snow Leopard is now overseeing the district. All the creeper damage and mismatched and pointless streets are going to go away.

If you were going to move into Port but decided the place was too unorganized and too much of a mess, we'd ask you to give the town another look soon; Snow would really like some new move ins.

If your house (especially in Ember) has been left ramshackled because of misuse or abuse, we'd invite the current residents to please do some clean up, (cough, Wheatley) or we will do it for you. (again)

Not everyone visits their houses very often, nor do they have to, so if you have a house built here, unless you plan to abandon your current build and build a new property in Serenity, you should just keep the house as you have it, so you have a place to stay when you visit.

Also a plug for Error, his town Tullouch is now open for visiting, and I believe it now has its own warp and will soon have its own tele.

As far as building, I know he needs/wants help building the main castle. Be forewarned that he is very picky on who helps him and what they build, and you can't just build your own house there, everything he built has a plan. Regardless, it's an amazing build, and we need to have video/pics of the town posted on this thread soon, so at least go give Tollouch a look.

Figured I'd take the time to show what I've been working on lately on my server. Been working on a giant tower that's basically an apartment complex. The entire base of it took me about three months on and off to do. It's seven floors (counting the roof top floor).


One of my older works, figured I'd post that too, see how much I've improved.

You may want to whitelist your server or put up some kind of anti-grief tools, because I build a really cool tower and it got blown up. Also just go look at your spawn. Other than that I have been loving your server

Great, It would also be cool to have be able to /gamemode unlocked since we spawn in creative I don't see that being a problem.

To support the "Renovation/reinvention of Port Serenity" I am going to be spending some time working on my castle and making it look nicer.

So, today I finally finished Winterfell Tower, the inside needs to be finished still though.. there is a teleport to Winterfell in the Tanith tele hub.

I saw a video recently of people doing a Hunger Games map, where they played the games and there were chests hidden everywhere and the admin would spawn stuff to make things more interesting.

Perhaps we should do something like that sometime.

I see. I know how to make circles that size, but I'd need to see the inside to tell whether you were actually able to do that. (The outside will look octagonal either way, when it's that small.)

The new snapshot is out. There are now a couple of extra world options - you can choose to have a bonus chest with some basic supplies when you first spawn in a world, and you can also enable single player "cheat" commands if you want.

Currently we have an election for who will lead Port Serenity, anyone can come vote at the center of town by the fountain.

I am running and please vote for me I am really worried about the town going away from being a free to build area. Yes there are some poor looking homes but overall the place has turned out fine with a no build rules. Furthermore some of my running mates(*cough* snow) are already trying to limit building and what you can and can't build. I really don't want to see this happen so please vote for me(ace), or if not me quicksiliver. For a free and open Port Serenity.

On another note Tulloch is looking amazing and everyone should go visit because it is really cool and you can spend hours exploring it.

By my last count, anything involved with ZU is not a democracy. Toho's website is not democratic. Mods aren't voted for and they don't come and go at the whim of ZU members.

Membership isn't some sort of citizenship, it completely fails to give anyone rights or privileges and anyone who thinks it does, completely fails to understand the concept of a forum.

The administrator's word is dictatorial law and the power that is given to mods is inalienable. From what I've seen, Scott's minecraft server is run the same way, and in fact rules are less rigidly set down because, well it's a game and the goal of such a game is given the express purpose of allowing people to have fun.

From the many precedents that I've seen on the server , RoT is tabby's domain, Cilly is Melpy's, Din is Tott's, Port Phasmatys is Anon's/Oil's, the Valley is Sir Rhapsody's, Skyloft is Idmb's, Tulloch is Error's and I could go on.

When someone founds a city and starts asking people to move in, it is pretty much a given that the founder will be building up roads, bridges, community buildings, will be giving up time, effort and materials in exchange for garnering neighbors.

As a trade off for all the time and materials that have been sacrificed, and also as a trade off for being allowed to build within a person's allotted land, up til now it has without exception been the understood rule that you follow the founder's rules when you build in their town.

Once again, founders don't get elected, they don't get thrown out, they never change unless a founder steps down and lets someone take over because of inactivity or disinterest.

Yes, Port's ownership is a little bit of a mess, but really, it's no more a mess than Port Phasmatys or any other of the many cities with dual ownership and/or retired founders.

At this time, the only one who could decide to completely remove me from administration in Port Serenity is Paradoxident, he is the only interested founder whose establishment in the city is older than mine.

Snow, and Ace if he is involved simply IS NOT allowed to decide that there will be a voting for new ownership. Snow did not build the roads in Port, Para himself didn't build many, if any, of the roads outside of Terram district.

Snow doesn't have a house there, he scarcely had a building there and if we are going to start changing the rules on the server then I will go ahead and put my nomination in to run Cilly.

It's a game Snow, it's not meant to be serious business, if you really want to run a town and lay down your law, go start your own town.

Scituate and Ember are my property on the server. Their roads, bridges and terraforming were built by me using my materials. Someone else cannot make decisions about them for me.

So this is my first post in the Minecraft thread, and I'd just thought I'd share with you all one of my favorite things in my vanilla world.

This picture is of my melon/pumpkin farm. It holds 148 melons and/or pumpkins, and is semi-automatic- all you have to do is press a button. It's probably not the best melon farm, but I've incorporated it with my mine, and that's why it's a really long design. Here's a side view of the farm workings made in creative (note the first picture was a creation in vanilla Minecraft.



It's kind of hard to see how it works, but it's kind of...overly complicated. I used 6 pistons per melon/punpkin. Yes, overkill, but hey, it's a video game, I had to spend my redstone somewhere, right?
