Halo 2 Thread

Well the game has already hit the record for most game Pre-orders. It is the most anticipated game of the year and possibly the most anticipated game ever. There have already been over 1.5 million pre-orders in the U.S. alone, which as i said before breaks all game pre-ordering records. What are your thoughts on this upcoming game?

It's overrated. No one knows exactly what its going to put out, all people can do is assume. In fact, the original Halo is overrated. Fun, but overrated.

I just hope they fix that god awful and boring story line. The multiplayer is what everyone gets the game for.

Halo 2 does look a LOT better though.

I've played it, my friend's brother is a little hacker and he has a modded Xbox so he can play games before they're released by downloading them.

Anyhow, the game is way better than the first one. Better graphics, more realistic, almost everything is upgraded, new weapons, you can play as the Covenant in Single- and Multiplayer. Other than the fact that it's a new game and obviously has new Single- and Multiplayer levels to offer, I know nothing more. Wait, one more thing: you cannot do stunts in Halo 2 like you could in Halo 1. You still can a bit, but throwing grenades on a Worthog won't make it fly up high anymore.

Even though I'm a fan of Halo, I have to admit it is said to be better than it is. I still think Perfect Dark is the best FPS in the whole universe. But you don't really need to be one of the thousands that post the same thing in every Halo thread, always including the word 'overrated' in their post(s).

Majority of the people are getting it for multiplayer, yes. I am getting the game for both the Campaign and Multiplayer.

I hope to play it in a couple days, a friend of myne downloaded a leaked version thats in french, he said it was awesome. I really regret selling my x-box so I might go down to a pawn shop and buy another one for Halo 2, Kotor 2, ect. I dont get why people freak out about good games saying they are "overated." Just because a game is popular doesnt mean it should be viewed as over rated.

And I agree with you completely.
I am looking forward to what the new game will bring to the plate. I certainly don't think Halo is god's gift to console FPS, but it's pretty good.

I'm certainly not one of the rabid followers. You know the type. We all know the type. lol.

Halo was by far my most favorite FPS of all time. Second being half-life.

Halo 2 looks to be some kind of god and is really the only reason I plan on getting xbox live.

Games like the Halo series are dusters. Your going to be playing the Xbox version till you beat it, or get stuck & then you'll get bored and leave it out to collect dust. Even if you do play again its going to be if you have friends over who haven't played it much or want to see what its like.

I still play Halo's single player to this day. I strongly disagree with that. One must speak for himself.

Not really, unless you keep the case on your shelf and never open it because Halo 2 is in the XBOX the whole time then i can understand your term 'duster'. But i can gurantee that it will not be game where you just play the campaign once then never play it again. The XBOX live is the trick, Halo 2 will be one of the most played online games when it is released, no doubt about it. People all over the world will be playing Halo 2 on XBL for quite a long time after it's release.

Yes... That's why I still play a least one single player session a week and participate in small LAN parties as often as free time allows.

Anyway, I still think Half-Life 2 will outrun the pre-orders for Halo 2.

HALO was overrated. There was a lack of guns. There has to be 20 more guns in Goldeneye. The multiplayer was good but the solo missions bored me to hell. Its either your getting your butt kicked or your plowing through hoards of enemies like nothing. The vehichles were probably the best part. HALO 2 will probably be a lot like than Halo 1. They add a few guns, a new vehicle, a few new maps and extras, and everyone is going to be like "this is the best." There probably going to reuse a lot of the things in solo missions. Maybe it will be a lot better. Who knows. I still prefer playing Goldeneye for the N64.

Alot of guns isn't always a good thing. Alot of people complained that the weapons in goldeneye did more or less of the same thing.

I didn't mind it however, I liked goldeneye but I don't see what everyone say in it.

The god awful AI, (both allies and enemies I.E. one of the people you'd have to protect in the games ungodly number of escourt missions) and the fact that just about EVERYTHING you shot blew up kind of killed several things with me. It was indeed a great game (save the bodygaurd missions. argh, stupid woman running RIGHT INTO GUNFIRE.) but I just don't see it as one of the best ever made like everyone else. It along with PD did make me wish nintendo would publish more FPSs however.

Wow are you some Halo fanatic or something. I just get online at home and whoop a few n00bs every once and awile.

True, Halo lacked a higher number of guns... Compare it to Perfect Dark that probably had atleast 30 weapons, with all their cool secondary functions. Halo's single player was a pain in the ass for most of the time.

And it's only better for PC if you got an ultra-good PC, which costs a lot.

*sigh* (I don't know how many times I've said this) I disagree. Well, partially, the single player is usually the worst part of game altough that's not saying much. (Smash bros. Melee).

I like Halo's single player, what more did I need to explain?
