[Multi] Selling My Xbox, What Should I buy?

Yeah, I may sell my 360 with all of my stuff for a LOT of money, and I was wondering, what should I get with that money? A PS3, or a 3DS. The PS3 may seem like the obvious answer, but I really like Nintendo and I see no reason for purchasing another Wii (it would make my third).

I'd go for the PS3 really. Pretty much every good game currently coming to the 3DS is a remake. Ocarina of Time, Star Fox 64, Metal Gear Solid. And I guess Resident Evil Mercenaries is too, in a way.

Give it time, there's no games out right now for it really, might as well grab a PS3 in the mean time; get yourself Demon's Souls, Uncharted, God of War and Metal Gear Solid 4 to start, and get some of those old downloadable games on the PSN. 3DS isn't too worth it right now, but that's my opinion. They'll be cheaper and better available games in time; or wait for the 3DSi Lite XL.

If you really don't want the 360 anymore (That pains me ) then I'd go with the PS3 for sure. I'll admit as much as I love my Xbox I've always wanted to play games like Heavy Rain, Little Big Planet 1&2, and the Uncharted series. (Meh on the GoW series.)

Get yourself a PS3. LBP, inFamous(2), GoW3, Uncharted (2), are all good games. And it's a BluRay player. Can't go wrong there either, then you can start building a library of BluRay movies.

How about some good books. Expand your mind, go for the gold, etc..

I'd save up for a high end PC. I would sell my xbox, but my friends all have xboxes.

Okay guys, I played Black Ops on the PS3 at my friend's house. I loved it! I'm probably going to get the PS3 bundle that comes with Black Ops and maybe a game or two.

First of all, WHY are you selling your Xbox?

Also, do you really NEED to buy video games/consoles with the money, or can you live without them? If you can, save up for something else. You don't really NEED to buy anything with it right away. Give it time, and make sure you make the right decision so you don't get stuck with something you don't want.

You know that Black Ops is also on the 360...

Honestly I would wait a little on the PS3 purchase since the HD console prices are poised to drop by the end of the year.

It's his money, and he's choosing between the PS3 and 3DS.

And I'd recommend the PS3, 3DS's library ain't so cool now 'cept for OoT.

Depends on what you want. Personally id hang on to the 360 but thats just me. A PS3 might be a better move. Its not entirely practical to have a 3DS yet. (Mine was a gift. One i really didnt ask for...yet.) 3DS's library is pretty limited right now. PS3 has loads plus PSN which has some ace PS1 games available on it!

A PC, and lots of Steam games.

I think that's the real question here.

I'm trading in my Elite 360 towards the purchase of the slim, getting £100 which is half its price!

Anyway, there's really no point in selling a 360 to get a PS3. Sure you'll miss out on some really great PS3 exclusives, but EVERYTHING else is already on the console you own. Honestly, it sounds more like a problem of "I have no games wah guess I'll get a new console." So my suggestion is to keep it and actually buy some new games.

Unless you're really big on the PS3 exclusives you're better off just keeping the 360. Other than exclusives there's virtually no difference between the two systems.

The big question is why are you selling your 360? If you're not into the games for it, chances are a PS3 won't do you much better. Most games are released on both platforms anyway, unless all you had were games like Halo and Gears of War. PS3 has some nice exclusives, like Uncharted, but honestly it sounds like a 3DS might be a good choice if you're just sick of your 360.

There aren't a lot of 3DS titles out at the moment, though. The most popular ones right now are probably just Super Street Fighter IV and Ocarina of Time 3D (derp). There are some nice ones coming out over the next year or so, though, if you don't mind waiting.

Keep your 360 controller, put your money from the system and games toward a good gaming PC, and embrace Steam. If you're not satisfied with the HD console exclusives, you'll find superior versions of the multiplatform titles (and much more) on PC, not to mention all the routinely amazing Steam sales. If I didn't love so many console-exclusive titles I would probably be a PC-only gamer at this point, but if a 360 just isn't doing it for you, PC gaming might be right up your alley.
