The E3 Bet of Badges and Bannings 2011 SEE FIRST POST

THIS IS A CRAB HELMET EDIT. THE BET RESULTS HAVE BEEN PLACED ON HOLD UNTIL THE STATUS OF THE DSI FOUR SWORDS GAME HAS BEEN CONFIRMED. THE BET IS NOT CANCELLED, IT IS MERELY ON HOLD, AND WE WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE A WINNING SIDE.



Will there be a brand new Zelda game shown at E3 2011?

Winners of the bet will recieve this fabulous banner/badge (which is still being made) and the ability to change his or her username whenever they please. These reward will not last forever, but it will at least last a week.

Losers of the bet will be banned from Zelda Universe for a week. (Ban begins Tuesday June 7, 2011, and ends Tuesday June 14, 2011.) Don’t fret if you lose, though, because the Loser Forum 8bit made back during the 2009 bet is still there for you!


As for what qualifies as a new Zelda being shown, there has to be at least one of:

• Official art (can be subject to change)
• Official trailer (even a teaser)
• Gameplay footage and/or demo

Conversely, the following occurences do NOT qualify for being a new Zelda:

• A remake of a previous game, even if it's 2D to 3D etc.
• A collection of previous Zelda games
• Any information of a brand new Zelda shown AFTER the press conference

UPDATE: it must be a brand new game or a completely overhauled remake. Ports do not count.

Making a bet.

I bet that there WILL be a new Zelda game/collection announced on Tuesday.

The punishment for failing the bet should be an avatar of a little boy in a dunce cap, a banner saying "loser," and a sig yelling "HERP-A-DERP-A-DURR" in big bold letters instead. It would make things different, and more entertaining.

Direct ports only count if they are in a collection; though, Reggie pretty much said that wouldn't be the case.

What if it's a direct port with an added feature, like online capability?

I can see this bet being too one-sided, so I'm going to change the bet.

Anyway, I'm trying to update all the betters on the OP, but ZU is down on my pc. I'm. Typing this all on my phone right now, and it's taking frigging forever!

I bet yes. A new game only makes sense - Nintendo gave OoT3D to Grezzo, so what does that mean Zelda Team is doing? Perhaps working the the Wii team on SS, sure, but I'm thinking it's to develop a game for the 25th.

My bet is that it'll be a Four Swords game for the 3DS (perhaps downloadable), complete with Wifi co-op.

Which would be awesome <3

I agree with your change. So a game similar to OoT 3DS (lets say, MM 3DS) would count, or it wouldn't count?

Anyway, my bet is on Yes. I didn't really have high hopes, however, if they're comparing this to Super Mario All Stars, then I would assume that it meets one of your requirements, even if its not a collection.

Reggie said it would not be like SMAS. And I wouldn't count a MM 3ds as a remake if its like the ocarina one which is basically a port with updated graphics. All the content is pretty much the exact same otherwise.

I'm going all in. I vote that we will see a new game.
