Favorite Nintendo Series?

What is your favorite series? Not limiting you to things that Miyamoto made (Mario, Zelda etc) but I am limiting you to things that are only nintendo creations, like metroid, and earthbound stuff like that.

what Series do you like best!?

My personal favorite is obviously Zelda, I love Mario, but Zelda was the first video game I ever played and beat. It has always been a large part of my childhood.

While Miyamoto is most certainy respectable and should be acknowledged as doing much for the video game industry, people tend to give him a little too much credit. He may have started those franchises, but he can't be called the person who "made" them. Mario and Zelda have had numerous development teams over the years with Miyamoto playing a largely hands-off role (Or perhaps no role at all) for ages.

Anyway, my favorite would be Zelda, followed closely by Metroid with Mario in a close third. Star Fox follows after that, with Donkey Kong after that.

Considering this is a zelda fansite I think putting *Besides zelda* in the OP would be better.
OT: Well, this is hard. Though I'd have to say pokemon. with SSB in a very close second.
Mario is great, but in all honesty, there are some other platformers that I find funner. Mario does always have very tight and consistent gameplay though.

I'd argue that classic Sonic the Hedgehog is better than Mario in any fathomable way, a testament to just how beautifully excellent those Sega Genesis titles were.

I'd say either Zelda, or Mario.

The only reason I vote Zelda first is that most games are alike and are SO EPIC

And even though Mario can be epic too, the novelty of being a plumber in space fighting a turtle dragon is bit... abstract. And somewhat ruins the story in a few of them.

EDIT: But story isn't everything, and the game holds up amazingly in gameplay. It's great as well.

But Zelda keeps the legend going with each game, and especially with TP and WW, I felt like a her as soon as the game started.

EDIT: I almost forgot. I've been so hyped on Zelda I forgot about my favorite game series of ALL TIME. Earthbound! It's amazing!

SSB is my absolute favourite. All your favourte characters coming together to duke it out in a smash fiest that you can play for hours on end! What's not to love and how can it get any better?

Well I cant give s pecific order in which series I like. But this is my list.

Mario - Zelda- Pokemon - Earthbound/Mother - Donkey Kong - Starfox.

Um... Does Professor Layton count as a Nintendo series? If yes then count that in as well.

Um that's pretty much it. :/ I like more series besides those, but those are my absolute favourites.


EDIT. Oh yeah, Super Smash Bros! XD How could I forget that one?

1. Zelda - Epic series and almost all of the titles are instant classics.
2. Mario - I love the classic 2D platformers as well as the Galaxy games.
3. Final Fantasy - Loved the games when they were on the SNES
4. Tecmo Bowl - Best sports series ever!
5. Mario Kart - Plain fun.

I barely play mario and sonic, but I play it sumtimes.

The rest of the games I play are mostly on my ps3.

Besides Zelda and Mario, obviously, I'd say my favorite Nintendo franchise is Paper Mario. As opposed to the normal Mario platformers, Paper Mario introduces great stories, and the battle system is just superb. I also love how much there is to do beside the main quest, like in the second installment, you have the recipes, the trouble center and so forth. I've used immensely many hours playing Paper Mario, and I still love it to death. Can't wait for the next installment on 3DS.

Zelda, Fire Emblem, Earthbound, Final Fantasy (when it was on the SNES), Mario, Metroid...

Zelda: Derp.
Fire Emblem: I love Fire Emblem, even if its fanbase is a bit...wanky.
Mother series: Oh why why wont you make more.
Paper Mario: I love Mario but i love this series so much more.
Mario: Ahh of course. Good ol Mario.

If I had to pick my favorite of the Nintendo Creations,

Zelda, Zelda, and more Zelda. I've grown up with it all of my life. The plots, the stories, the land, they all boost my creativity and inspire me to write and draw. It have also introduced me to many new friends.

Final Fantasy is not a game made by Nintendo people.

I like Zelda, Mario, and Metroid.

Metroid. A badass inside a power suit that brings death to everyone she encounters is definitely better than a boy who has Tourette's and can swing a sword around or a fat plumber whose only claim to fame is stomping on innocent mushrooms.

I'm not a big fan of Nintendo these days, but back in the SNES generation I was a huge Donkey Kong Country fan, I was actually tempted to buy a Wii just to get the new one.

So yeah Donkey Kong Country by far.
