Sandbox.
You start out in the middle of nowhere like Minecraft, but you have a guide to tell you the basics. You chop down trees and build a house and a workbench and a sword just like in Minecraft. But, then you start venturing underground and you start getting double jump boots and grappling hooks and magic assault rifles and you start battling giant eyeballs and sand worms and whatever. It's just like Minecraft... but expanded in the areas of RPG, action, and exploration.

I've seen this advertised in the Yogscast, and now I've found myself wanting it. It looks decent, and it has some things that vanilla Minecraft doesn't, like chairs, tables, and a crafting table that gives you options so you don't need to waste time putting stuff into the 3x3 grid to craft.

But yeah, Terraria doesn't look that bad.

I just updated the server... Dynmap should (finally) be working correctly now.

Also, less lag (I hope).

they'll get a server op to add you to the whitelist.

You're inducted to the secret society, of course. The ceremony is secret, but it may or may not be against various anti-hazing laws.

Also if you're related to someone within the EPA don't mention what happens in the ceremony.

I got minecraft a week ago, been hollowing out a mountain I started near on an island for a few days, I swear I've got enough cobblestone to make a hangar from Star Wars, which I might do now that I've built bridges and stuff around my island. It'll be pretty sweet, I plan on getting a millennium falcon after that's done if I have enough cobblestone n' coal left.

I have an idea for New Hyrule. Behind or below the area, say the Deku Tree for example, we could put a redstone circuit that plays a bunch of note blocks. Those note blocks would play the music for that area. It would add realism to the area and wouldn't be that hard if you know redstone circuitry and basic music knowledge

That's actually already done... if you go to the stump next to the forest temple and push the button on it, it plays Saria's Song. There's a pressure pad on the triforce symbol outside that plays the minuet of the forest.

There was also talk of having it play in the lost woods.

Yup. While on the temp server I recall Bolero mentioning that he was also working on the Prelude of Light for the Temple of Time. And it should be easy to loop songs. In fact, repeaters aren't used for that at all; repeaters are used for timing and controlling the value of the note's duration/bpm. To loop a song all you do is wire the circuit back to the input

The /spawn suffocation bug strikes again...I just lost some valuable stuff to it.

Now, it seems that the bug strikes when it wants to, because earlier, there were some reports of the bug seemingly fixed, but then I try typing /spawn, and I end up underground.

Yeah. What I've learned to do is /spawn, then hurry up and sign out. Then sign back in and all is well.

1.6 officially has a release date of “not soon”. The main features will be the maps, bug fixes, and now a functioning Nether in multiplayer.

It seems to depend on how far away from spawn you are before you type it, also what direction you're standing in.

E.g. I typed it at Asta's Yoshi and was fine.

I typed it at frankenberry and was not fine.

It seems to be a big problem.. The best way to fix it would to make spawn in the sky, then let players drop down from a height.
How this would be done:

1. Toho (or whoever sets the spawn) builds a 1x1 tower in the choice of the spawn.
2. Sets spawn at a high point on this tower. (Maybe 10/15 blocks above ocean level)
3. Remove the tower and have a success.

People won't die from the fall because players are invincible for a few seconds when spawning.

I never knew that players were impervious to damage for a brief period when you spawn. I should've known that god dammit.

Is there something wrong with the server? It says connection refused..

"Connection Refused" is technobabble for "the server at this address is not running."
