He didn't claim ownership of it he was simply pointing out. Though credit probably wouldn't go amiss.

Goron__Elder: the world with Fort Propheus on it is alive and well, running on my server now. If you would like to join it, just send me a message and remind me if the "b" comes before the "d" or the other way around.

also, that's a nice texture pack. What is it called?

Chozo, Goron__Elder and Tacheon Black did at least as much work on the fort as I did.

yay, finished my first proper house, and it has two floors =D kinda weird though, cuz the entrance is on the second floor, though the bottom floor is on the ground... hard to explain.

That's because it crashed due to an out of memory error.

Holy crap.

Thank god for the undo command. Was goofing off in my main world and nearly deleted half my map using WorldEdit's replace command. My game lagged and instead of deleting the blocks I wanted it deleted just about every block in 1 direction. =/

Remind me never to do that again. lol

Re: |OT| Minecraft IV: Mighty Fine QA

I have the map with the fort on singleplayer it's my "temp map" from now on;
whenever I have no internet or bad internet.

The texture pack is the "LB Photo realism" one. I love it. it's 256 instead of 16

As for the fort, I didn't build the FORT.
I just build the secret room ( not in the video... heh heh heh ), the pool, the bridge and the giant mess of a lava tower that's out the back

Re: |OT| Minecraft IV: Mighty Fine QA

Well, I started a new single player file a couple of weeks ago, resolving that it'd be an entirely mod-free, legitimate world.

That resolution didn't last long!

The problem with me is that once I've built the basics (ie. a house or two and some farms), I start thinking of all the sculptures and buildings I'd really like to be constructing. I then think of how much time it would take to mine all the materials I'd need, and lose interest.

This kept happening until finally, on Thursday night, I snapped and cloned enough obsidian, glowstone and sandstone to make a giant lion.

Spoiler:

(My wolf decided to teleport to me, and now has a permanent position on the lion's nose)

I made it with the help of the "build" mode of Zombe's mod pack - well, technically only part of the build mode, because I didn't use any of its McEdit-like properties like filling or deleting large chunks at once. Instead I duped the blocks that were already in my inventory, and just placed each block individually in the more-or-less traditional way. I just...didn't have enough patience to mine all that obsidian and sandstone myself, lol.

Oh, another cool feature of that mod pack is that it allows you to summon weather at will. It makes for some cool screenshots:

"An awesome companion"

Brothers, sisters, and Toho, let me tell you all a story:

Today, hellsbells and ERROR decided to randomly explore a distant cave system. Torn between my palace project and my explorer's nature, I decided at the last minute to join these two in their journey.

I'm glad I did, for on the way to the aforementioned cave system, on an island in the middle of nowhere, I met Rex

For the next hour or so, hellsbells, ERROR, myself and our new canine friends explored the land, until we came across hellsbells' cave system, where we promptly spammed torches and extracted many valuable materials (in particular, a few stacks of precious iron).

Over an hour later, as I emerged from the cave, I was ambushed by a skeleton. As I lifted my sword to strike, Rex beat me to the punch and downed the enemy. However, in his eagerness he had jumped in between my sword and the enemy, becoming grievously wounded in the process. I observed his low-hanging tail.

At once, I abandoned hellsbells and ERROR and ran as fast as I could in no particular direction with Rex limping weakly behind me, in the hope of finding a pig, any pig, to kill so I could feed the weakened Rex, as well as myself. Alas, I could not find any.

Night fell, Rex and I were stranded near a beach. I decided to scatter torches all over the place so I could at least pretend we were safe.

The facade didn't last.

Hidden in a dark corner, a creeper lay in wait. I approached the dark corner and placed a torch. The creeper, now fully illuminated, charged at me. I promptly retreated, since I was already low on health.

When the creeper got close, however, the ever-loyal and nearly-dead Rex pushed it back just before it exploded, sacrificing himself in the process, in order to save me. As the rain started I could only stare at the creeper's crater and the invisible remains of Rex.

As if to mock the death of their predator, pigs finally appeared. About three of them. I promptly wiped the mocking smiles off their faces with my sword, and replenished my energy with their remains.

Rex died out here so I could live to return home, and I wouldn't let his sacrifice be in vain.

Unfortunately, I was in the middle of nowhere. I had no food, so I couldn't risk a trip into the dangerous underground to get redstone for a compass.

However, after a short walk, I encountered a familiar figure. It was hellsbells. Insisting that his instincts alone could guide us home without the aid of a compass, he convinced me to trust him with the duty of navigating through this wilderness. Our merry band of three men and three wolves had been reduced to a depressing duo of hellsbells and myself, yet we trudged on for days, our desires for home overriding our fear of the dangers that were quite literally around every corner.

Then, just as I had begun to lose faith in hellsbells' instincts, familiar landmarks appeared one by one before my eyes. A small tower, a large sculpture, a massive treehouse...

Minutes later, I was walking through Dubtown and knocking on the door of Casa Saturn. I was home at last.

But I will never forget the sacrifice made to get me and my numerous stacks of precious minerals here in one piece.

^tru story

Thanks. :>

There are quite a few cloning/building mods out there for single player. The only one of these that I've tried is Zombe's pack, but the others look quite nice:

- [1.5_01] Single Player Commands [V2.8_2] - Minecraft Forums

- [1.5_01] TooManyItems in-game invedit *April 27 update* - Minecraft Forums

- [V1.5_01] zombe's modpack (21 mods) [V4.18 upd: 29.apr] - Minecraft Forums

Re: |OT| Minecraft IV: Mighty Fine QA

Probably (the Zombe pack was). Most mods basically involve moving class files into the minecraft.jar and then deleting the META-INF folder. Each of those has instructions in the opening post anyway, so they should be fine.
