[PC] |OT| Minecraft IV: Mighty Fine QA

That's been happening forever, and I thought they fixed that in the old world.

I fixed it (moved spawn to somewhere safer...a few blocks off).



The server wasn't actually overloaded when I didn't have the whitelist on for a few days. The main reason for whitelisting is actually for griefer protection, not for any kind of overloading problem.

And as for doing whitelist instead of allowing people to join but not build...that's mostly for convenience reasons. It's easier to modify whitelist than modify user groups.

There's a nice plugin called PermissionsPlus which allows for the /group command, so you can, for example, do this:

The server we use would almost certainly not be able to handle 300 people. I'd be surprised if it could handle 50. Even as low as 25 would still surprise me a bit.

Sounds familiar. If you had it set to something ridiculously high, how many would you guess it could handle?

I hope notch fixes this soon. It's effectively screwing up my Minecraft experience and thus I might not play until he fixes this problem.

I think that may have something to do with people not really knowing it was whitelist free. Since some people still had to ask what the IP is, they can't read much detail

Started to make a blasted PokéCenter but I'm having trouble maintaining the details while keeping it to scale.



Then I got Portal 2. So...now I'm drugged on that for the next few days. Then I'll probably get back to it and finish the roof. I also need a creeper security system installed as well. It has been blown up four times already by creepers just waiting for me to log in.

So I had an IP for a server written down and decided to try it out today.

These guys were very talented with great sprite are ranging from MC Link, Ness, Kirby and Romona Flowers.

There houses were very decent but I'm pretty sure one was majorly greifed (I kid you not it had water gushing from the top and sorounding area I'll post pics) and the roof wasn't finished yet either so I presume the player was planning on finishing it eventually but its going to be tough now.

They had countless mines and I found one that led to a private mine with nothing in there.

There wad another un-finished house that had a lot of smashed windows and a mineshaft which I got lost in and he had two pet Creepers D: (This was my first encounter with them)

One of the mods had a smart trap were they made a really long pit near their treasure room called "The Troll hole" to trap theivies

So that was my first experience on Mc online

Guess who's one tower poorer now?

I did get to see some neat kaboomage though.

There are also teleporters near spawn, in Russia/Vorkuta, In SirRhapsody's valley (hub), and Dubtown.

You need to go to the valley hub to find the Frankenberry Teleporter.

I'll eventually screencap their location so people can find them.

But the one near spawn shouldn't be too hard to find, as it's literally attached to the side of the causeway.

I'll probably make a second hub sometime when I have time, to redirect traffic away from the valley and make griefing less likely there :3

About 12. The player limit is not some arbitrary number I picked out of a hat.

1(got no answer so) so would there be a reason for a non-zelda player to go on the server? I understand I can help with scutwork and such, but I mainly mean what is the freedom like on the non-hyrule world? can you do pretty much whatever or are there strict rules? obviously demolishing someone's house is out of the question, but I mean building stuff-wise.

2. What exactly is griefing? just annoying people or is it a specific thing i.e. player killing, modded?

3. if I join the server will I has powers to create things from air or do I need to mine/craft them?

4. Is it reccomended I, essentialy, finish single player before going online so I dont get confuzzled all the time?

1. Build what you like. Build a big penis out of gold, I did.
2. Touching other peoples **** to ruin it, or pillaging, burning, booming etc
3. YOU MINE IT. AND THEN YOU CRAFT IT.
4. You will be at single player a damn long time if you try to finish an endless game.

also, can I use Texture Packs from older versions or should I only use 1.5 ones? and is there a specific place I should get them from? I got a thread on the Minecraft forum from google listing a few, though none really interest me except the simple ones.
