The whole "use the 3D slider to turn off the effect" is a pretty bull**** response to the problem. The slider's purpose is for people to find the optimum level of 3D for their eyes, not to turn off the effect outright and only use the 2D. |
Err, to turn off the 3D is actually also a part of the slider's purpose.
If you want to just play 2D games on a handheld, sure, you can buy a DS. Or a PSP. Or an iPhone. But you can't buy a DS if you want to play 3DS games.
It's not as simple as "3D, 2D". There are games coming for the 3DS that aren't available anywhere else, and these games do not
require you to see them in 3D so much as
enable it.
What will make or break the 3DS isn't whether as many people as possible can see the 3D effects, it's all about the games. If people have to turn off the 3D effects to play these games then there's nothing stopping them from doing just that.
