DP to Pt was about... three years I believe? (2006-2009) Around a span of two to three years, which is a reasonable amount of time to make a Pokemon game for the 3DS.

I just beat Clay, and am currently in Chargestone Cave. I decided to catch a Joltik just to experiment with it. I thought it had in interesting typing as well. Is it worth it?

What is stopping you, exactly? They are great games, perhaps the best Pokemon games- scratch that- they are the best.

I played Crystal right after I played Blue- my first Pokemon game- and was not really astounded.
But I still maintain my belief in Black and White.

I don't necessarily care about improvements- just the game in general. As much as I love the new games for their new additions, I feel that as a whole they are excellent games.

I just realized my ditto is jolly, and this means I can use it to breed jolly Axews (or any other pokemon that would be good jolly) for competitive purposes. If anyone wants one just let me know.

I also have a Deino and Gligar I don't particularly need so if anyone wants them, again let me know.

That's a very tough case to make. Everything you see in RBY was new at the time, so by default it beats out every single generation at "new ideas". To compare, GSC would have had to reinvent the entire genre, and I mean beyond polishing the mechanics.

GSC was all about adding stuff that needed to be added, and polishing mechanics that needed to be polished. It certainly didn't add more ideas than RBY did, but it did add more than any generation after it.

Yeah, but I'd like to see something new but not too drastically new. Hopefully that will happen on the 3DS. Like maybe have an RPG type(if pokemon doesn't already count as one) or maybe even first person. It's interesting to think about, but right now I am perfectly happy with the game it is now. Though I think it would be cool to have a 3D pokemon game with the battles like battle revolution or something. I was hoping B/W would have done that(before I saw the gameplay) but I guess that's beyond the DS's comprehension at the moment.

Really the best thing about GSC which they never did again was 2 regions in one game.

Breeding ALONE reinvented the genre. I said Black and White are the best PKMN games, you pointed out new additions in G/S/C from R/B and from what you said I can assume you believe G/S/C are the best games.

However, tons of new additions alone does not make a good game. I wasn't even talking about the idea of reinventing the genre or presenting a big leap forward, I'm just talking about the games in general.

Did G/S/C have a good storyline, characters, music, Pokemon, and gameplay? Of course it did, but I happen to like Black and White more.

I never really liked the contests, I actually really enjoy the Pokemon musical much more thank you very much.

I don't care about improvements, really. I would not have minded if Black and White didn't have battle animations or large amounts of three-dee graphics, it has an excellent soundtrack, characters and Pokemon designs to help me enjoy it. Any new additions are icing to the cake.

There are no Pokemon contests existent in BW to miss "proper" Pokemon contests.

(honestly the following Pokemon thing was cool but sort of ruined because of the ugly 4th generation overworld sprites and how ugly some of the Pokemon sprites were, but I'm hoping for it to return of course)

I agree, the sprites were really stupid. I was so excited to finally get a glimpse of my favorite pokemon to follow me, and the first one being Deoxys, when I went outside I felt like throwing my DS outof the window. It was just dumb looking. But hopefully they will redeem themselves in Gray(or whatever the color may be)by putting moreeffort into overworld sprites of pokemon outside of Johto/Kanto.

Ohhhh, those contests! I keep thinking too much of the Sinnoh ones, I kept wishing that the contests in the Anime would be brought in the games, where you actually battle pokemon. Of course that didn't happen, nothing in the anime is logical. But yeah, the Hoenn ones were awesome. I find it cool that the people in the Big Stadium/Small Court make reference to the Pokeathalon.
