|OT| Pokemon (General): What's this about Pokemon 2?

Dee doo doo doo dun dun dee!

As (narrowly) requested in the previous thread, the Pokemon community has asked for two separate threads, and as such two threads have been provided. This thread is for general Pokemon discussion only. Want to discuss Black and White specifically? Go to the other thread. However, I do want to stress this is not a concrete move. If at any point I think one thread would be better than two, I'll make an executive decision to merge the threads. Think of this as a trial run.

Now that's said I done, away with the Pokemon discussion! All the usual forum rules apply, as well as some specific:

• keep trades requests to PM/VM,
• Google basic questions. No-one wants to have to answer questions like "what level does Abra evolve at?"
• have fun! (this is the important rule)

This is slightly off topic but it has something sorta to do with pokemon.

Why couldn't you hold off locking the old thread? That 1999 replies is going to bug me.

So to make this more on topic.


I have rediscovered why I love the pokemon games. In the Ruby I caught Groudon(so cool! Yay) and made it to the elite four. So far the only times I have challenged them were to see where I stand. This is the furthest I have managed to get in Ruby so its more about testing the waters. I had no expectations of winning and didn't bother to even use any full restores/revives. First time I got my ass pretty much kicked. Second time I got further, and the third time I got pwned because I accidentally went through the door after doing some leveling.

But these little test runs have given me some confidence that if I really wanted to I could crush them like bugs.

I think eometime soon I will be getting Black or White. Been on the fence as to whether or not I would really want to invest more time/money into this addicting franchise. But now I am more confident I wont regret it. lol


EDIT:

I got a question. I just remembered that when I was like in middle school my friend and I caught Missingno(I think we ruined the game, which probably pissed on his little brother as he had like all the pokemon from first Gen) anyways we wanted to see what would happen if we tried to trade it to my Crystal.

I don't think we could even trade it, but for me it was that one deer pokemon. I forget its name but it was the one from Second Gen. I also think it was a different color or that it looked really different.

I wanted to know was if anyone tried doing this? If so was it that deer pokemon or was it something else? Always wondered about this.

Stantler! Thats what it was. Completely forgot about Girafarig. lol

I always pick up my DS with the intention of finishing HG then I think about it for a moment, think "this is a lot of work" put it back down and talk to Liah.

I'd either evolve 'M [and ALWAYS get Kangaskhan] or trade it to PS2.
It'd change into Ditto on PS2.

Stantler. More useful and not so weak. IMO

I thought that Cinnibar Island glitch was awesome and use to play around with it all the time. First, there were two different glitch Pokemon: Missingno and 'M. Second, I loved catching the godlike Pokemon that were over level 100 and fed them rare candies until they reached level 0. I was never able to talk to the man on the rooftop of the gym though.

Talk to your lead Pokemon in HG/SS with your mom next to you. If it's holding an item, then you'll get the second message on occasion.


Also...I've been watching the other thread, and that's inspired me to continue with my SoulSilver game...Just thought I'd put that out. Thanks.

Espeon snuggled up to me a lot in the ice cave to keep warm. ^_^

New pokémon games always have too much hype. The fad will be killed on its own, I'm sure, like always.

Yeah, especially since it's supposed to be like a hospital setting. But then again, she's just being nice, right?

Note that I haven't finished the Kanto part of SoulSilver (I'm working on that now), hence why I'm currently mostly in the high 40s-low 50s.

My Tyranitar has to suffer the horrible name that is Ranii because i needed something to hinder its awesomeness

Gojira. I mean, he basically is.

So I just single-handedly beat Erika with Bakphoon, my Typhlosion. I know I had a type-advantage over her, but I still struggled a little bit, believe it or not.

With all the flowers around her gym, I'm surprised Bakkie didn't burn the place down.
