Keep the drama out of the thread as much as possible. Don't take anything personally if there are complaints etc.


As for the NPC's, we're hardly going to have 60 people online dressing up as them, with character skins for them all. Adding them in in block form lets them be part of the world still, to show that they exist there. Me and 8 know they look goofy, but it's fun, it doesn't matter. As for the skinned NPCs, is that going to happen, like, in the next 6 months?

Moving on, everything doesn't have to be SERIOUS BUSINESS (see: =/= allowing lack of accuracy.) The top parts of the Meadow are a bit too thick which could have been countered by having shorter length paths (width is fine.) However, we didn't remove the meadow (like we did with the first iteration of the temple entrance), so there's nothing to complain about. We thought it was still fine so it stayed.

The rule exists because the meadow was leaning towards the 'redo' edge, so we wanted to make it clear that random people can't start building on the project while making a half assed effort of it. It means more work for us because we have to tediously remove something, while making the person/s who made it waste their time.

You're kind of forgetting that we had to fit an entire dungeon to scale inside of there.

Not at all. The shortness of the tree isn't due to the dungeon, viz if it was due to the dungeon the tree would be bigger than it should be, not shorter.

It's shorter because of world limitations on height, and that the tree's clearing wasn't lowered in height from world water level.

I thought also one of the rooms stuck out at the side quite low down? So the choice would of been make it super fat or make the leaves start lower? Thats the impression i got from a video I watched of it anyway.

Indeed, one of the rooms sticks right out of the front, just over the Deku Tree's forehead. We've sort of taken a mixed compromise between the two options, and I think, before it was burnt down, it was obscured quite well.

As has been noted, the game is limited, both in its maximum height, and in its ability to act as a ****ing TARDIS. As such, we have to make certain compromises regarding the design of the world. The height issue is going to come up again, for example, when we begin on Death Mountain.

All said, though, I would like this to be a somewhat anarchic development where possible. GKANG and I may have started this project, and we may both run the game, but that doesn't make either of us any more important than anyone building. Thus, if there is a democratic resistance to either the new rule, or the NPC designs, then I'm open to revising our removing them.

As of now, there appears to be 1 vote against the new rule, and 2 for, as well as 2 votes against the NPC designs, and 2 votes for.

Actual NPCs sound like a good idea, however, at worst, our NPC designs are simply placeholders for said NPCs.

Also, dropping block based NPC designs right now would mean reverting a lot of already finished work, including work done in the Great Deku Tree and the Lost Woods, as we have represented nearly every enemy in both of those environments.

Buuut uhm since the entire edge of hyrule is walled off anyway, you could just lower the whole area quite a bit so you can get the extra height needed for death mountain.

Yah very late hehe ^_^ Unless it's actually been added today? What i want him to do is let me use dyes on actual blocks instead of just wool, so I can have multiple colours of the same texture, would be useful.

Does the compass do something with the mods? Whenever I "use" it it switches between /THRU MODE and /JUMPTO MODE or something like that. Leaves me very confused.

How many blocks high can you go from ground level? I'm thinking of making a rayquaza pic but it's 78 high.

Oh and I'm doing this on my own server, it's nice for the item spawning ^_^ Use that for building big projects like my clocktown then I have my single player game for playing it where I have to collect it all myself.
