I second this. One of my best memories is trying to teach my dad how to play Spiderman on the N64... Haha. (I know it's not Zelda, but we didn't quite get to Zelda after that.)
Helping another person with a game could be a way to bond, you know? My brother and I had a lot of good times playing Zelda together (which was actually him playing through stuff for me, and me watching in amazement. ^^)
It's nice to see how happy they are when you help them, too.
And, to get back to your original point, I don't see how getting stuck on a puzzle and needing help makes you any less of a Zelda fan. One of the great things about Zelda is they don't keep their puzzles the same from game to game. You could have played every one before
OoT and still needed help in the Water Temple, because they don't make patterns out of their dungeons... >.>
