[Multi] |OT| Call of Duty: Black Ops

Though I have not played it much, it is already living up to my expectations. The game is freaking sweet. In my opinion anyway. I had so much fun playing it, I was loosing track of time, always a good mark for a game.

I like the story so far, and as yet hardly any, if at all, holes in the plot, unlike MW2.
I will have to play more before I make a final verdict, but so far I am loving it!

Anyone else played it yet?



Oh yeah, and what is with Treyarch and torturing people via the eye?

I picked it up last night and only got a chance to play through a few multiplayer matches (almost at Level 10). However, the game is definately fun and something I'm going to be playing for a long, long time. I can't wait until I try some of the wager matches out, as well as experiment around with the contract system some more. Plus, Dead Ops looks awesome (I'm a sucker for anything zombie related) and the campaign doesn't look too shabby either. We'll see if I can make it through on Veteran difficulty on my first playthrough.

I have not had chance to play multiplayer or zombies yet, I want to finish the single player first. Which, by the way, is ****ing awesome. I don't want the game to end actually, I am having so much fun playing it! However, I feel a game cannot be good if the singleplayer is not great, multiplayer is peripheral to me. but as the singleplayer is great on this game, then I already love it. Multiplayer isnt really important to me.

Oh yeah, and I got bored of the zombies in WAW quite quickly, so I not really fussed about the zombie mode in this. But I will still play it.

It's been good so far. I've had a few issues in single player though (surprisingly). Like in Khe Sahn, when you have to move down the hill, and the enemy is pouring into the trenches and such, it's like "run through all the fire to this point. Oh, now we want you to run to this point." I hated that part. I literally sat on the hill for ten minutes, killing countless enemies.

Zombies, I played to round 3 then quit (have to go to class soon). Haven't had a chance to get to multiplayer. So far though, all but one possible achievement unlocked (Destroy all three Khe Sahn tanks in three shots. I stupidly shot a random missle in the air X.X)..

I do want to get this game, but I can't afford it at the moment. Probably will get it for Christmas though. I would like to hear more about it from fellow ZU'ers before I get it.

I bought it at midnight. I returned the game this morning.

You've probably seen this already, but for those that haven't.

I just cannot bring myself to care at all about the single player. They're bad every time. It's like walking through cutscenes.

However I am unfortunately a sucker for the multiplayer, thus I have the game.

Single player is always the main part about the game to me. A game cannot be good unless it has a decent single player. However, when they focus solely on the multiplayer, I am not happy. I remember when games did not have multiplayer, and there where some good games back then!


I just tried the multiplayer, and I was not really impressed. It is just a carbon copy of COD4 and WAW but with different weapons. Again.


But I still love the game because the singleplayer was great.

I love single player games, but for stuff like CoD I feel multiplayer is the only fun redeeming factor. The single player is one long cut scene. First mission I played I couldn't even open doors, I had to follow two *******s around and let them do everything for me.

Single player is a bonus, multiplayer is the big ticket here. But since it's probably just exactly the same thing as Modern warfare 2 I won't get it.

raumn, you must detest older games like BF1942 or the old COD's. No door opening in those at all.


After trying out multiplayer some more, I have realised I like it. The currency system adds much more of an incentive to play multiplayer than just getting XP.

I (don't) want to get it but it's so damn tempting. I noticed at Best Buy they have a great trade in deal. I might take advantage of that and pick up the game.

Is anyone else having issues with connecting and getting disconnected?

It's becoming a real pain.

I am having huge issues with connection being interrupted and getting lag whenever I take damage, but it seems the entire PC community is having the same problem.

Now it keeps telling me the Black Ops server is not available.

why can't games just work when they're released. effffff.

I've played the game a bit now. I got to say, they've fixed a lot of the things that bugged me with CoD Mod 2. Firstly, multiplayer without stopping power, Commando and danger close is way more fun. The wager match modes are way different than other game types, and that's pretty fun. And splitscreen online! I love it, I can play this with people over. : )

I really wanted to get the hardened for the extra zombie maps, since it's the main reason I baught the game.... but FS was sold out : (

So how different is it from Modern Warfare 2 and is it anything like the new Medal of Honor (which I found extremely boring)?
