3DS vs psp(2)

so as the title says many arguments are doing there round on the web
what is the better handheld which one would you rather have ?

i'm very interested in your opinions =)
(please keep it gentle because i know you fanboys out there cough me cough ;p)

Yeah, this has been a constant discussion back in my home country. Some say the 3DS will kick Sony's ass, other people say Sony can do much better then that.

My opinion.. I think 3DS will be way better then PSP2, no matter how good the graphics or features will be. There's no way Sony can trump Nintendo's line-up, and that's a fact. Besides, is it even sure Sony will be bringing out a PSP2?

but i gauss if the psp2 is just a repeat what happend with the psp then i already know that its not the greatest idea to launch that thing 0.o

Well, eventually, I think it would be a given anyway; whatever form it takes, be it a direct PSP sucessor, a smart phone (as has been rumoured), or other, a new portable gaming device form Sony is going to come around sooner or later. But it's now more or less confirmed.

However, this console war **** has bored me almost as soon as I discovered it. The truth is that both systems will sell, both systems will have a lot of games that the owners of the other system will miss out on, and regardless of the previous two facts, fanboys will argue about with is better without a point other then to attempt to hollowly affirm their decision and justify their brand fanaticism.

And, Jesus guys, other then the third party support (which is predictable; considering how huge the Wii and DS have been, why is it a surprise that developers want to jump onto the potential Next Big Thing, especially when it's powerful enough for them to be able to reuse assets from precious projects for easy profit?) the 3DS isn't all that impressive. Get off the hype train and try to see this objectively. A large number of the games coming out are ports or games that closely resemble console cousins (hey, wasn't that the problem with the original PSP, all those years ago?), it's unwieldy large and uncomfortably expensive.

It is exactly what we expected, but people have gotten so used to disspointment from Nintendo that exactly what we expected is far more then we actually expected.

^while there are quite a few ports, There are ALOT of new things coming out. A NEW PAPER MARIO. MORE ANIMAL CROSSING. SUPER FREAKING MONKEY BALL. RESIDENT EVIL MERCENARIES. STREET FIGHTER. There are just flat out a lot of games coming out for the thing. The PSP's problem is that there flat out weren't enough games on the thing other than PORTS of PS1 games, not even real remakes.

Hard to determine anything at all, given the fact that a PSP 2 isn't even officially confirmed yet, let alone any details released for it.

I have a feeling that PSP2 will outperform the original, however the handheld gaming "war" will not be won by Sony or Nintendo, but by Apple.

You argue about fanboys arguing, but your points aren't specific.

We don't even know the price of the 3ds in North America, and the most it could be is about 249.99 USD- stop listening to ignorant people who believe converted prices are fact. "Unwieldy large?" The size is that of a DS lite, so...?

And the 3ds hasn't come out yet, the ports are to make us feel comfortable, give it a year or two- you'd be surprised.

Video games are always about hype, I'm excited, and you can't change that. I'm not being a fanboy, as I don't mindlessly argue with other fanboys, but I try to make my points clear. I understand that you don't like it, but then I have nothing to argue. I've always had faith in Nintendo.

People, this goes for everyone, should learn the facts before they make an opinion.

Hm? Why? Apple units sell more, but there are also far more people who don't use them as a gaming device.

Actually, I imagine a pretty huge percentage of people use the iPhone for gaming. Everyone has at least tried Doodle Jump and Angry Birds, and everyone I know that owns an iPhone checks the Appstore (a pretty major feature of the iPhone, after all) every now and again to see if anything catches their interest, and come away with a new game every now and again. They don't last as long as DS/PSP games, true, through I know people who have become addicted with them for weeks.

Just sayin'.

It taps into the casual gaming market much more than its competitors, while still having some decent full length games.

Gameloft alone has sold 20 million games which doesn't seem like a lot but remember that is just one gaming company.

I don't have an ipad or iphone but from what I've seen its provided the richest handheld gaming experience recently.

In my opinion, if the psp wants to have a fighting chance against the 3DS, it needs to get 3D effects without glasses.

I remember years back when I promoted the heck out of the DS and everyone was like, nuh-uh, PSP is going to win! Just look at the graphics and junk.

My sentiments exactly. They'll both be good, so we should just leave it at that.

At the moment, practically nothing is known about either console, so it's pointless to debate. Before this thread devolves into rampant fanboyism, I'm going to close it.
