What was the worst thing that...

What was the worst thing that happened to you that had to do with video games?

The worst thing that happened to me happened to me just yesterday. My little brother was playing Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic and he let me play. So I went to file screen and I ment to hit load but instead I hit the save button, and then I clicked on my file and my little brothers file went over my file. I was deavistated!

Re: What was the worst thing that...

This one was actually a close call.

My friend was over at my house, and I had finally finished the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time. I saved just before he started messing with the drawer right behind the Gamecube. It froze. Man, I was so lucky I saved.

There are so many times I went really far in games and then had to restart because I was stuck for some unknown reason.

Re: What was the worst thing that...

The only thing I can think of is:

When I was young, I was playing on my NES and my dog came running into my room, tackled me, and with the remote control cord, I pulled the NES off of the shelf and it got seriously smashed up on the ground...after the T.V. fell on it. My parents were devistated. Luckily I wasn't hurt, but when they saw it was my dog's fault, they bought a new T.V. and that christmas I was given a SNES.

I'd say that was a bad story gone good,

Re: What was the worst thing that...

I'm not sure it's the worst, but anyway...

I had just finished the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time, then my sister pressed the Restart button by accident. Don't ask me how in the world she did it... A month went by, before I felt like playing again. >_<

Re: What was the worst thing that...

The day when my N64 OOT cartridge atrted to malfunction (It kept crashing at random points in the game)

And also when my SNES went faulty (Still, I sold it, and got my N64 with OOT, so I didn't come off that bad on that one).

Re: What was the worst thing that...

The Worst: I almost had Final Fantasy 7 beat, all I had left was the crater, so I decided to start a new file...I got about 30 minutes in, and when I went to save it, I accidently saved over my good file with my new file. I was pissed as hell..

The 2nd Worst: In Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, my friend and I nearly completed all of the missions, secrets, etc.. I liked some of the missions, so I decided to start a new file. I swore to my friend that I wouldn't save over it, and then...well, you know the rest. ><

I also got lucky one time. I had been playing Final Fantasy X for a couple of hours, and I had just beat a couple of bosses I couldn't previously beat. A storm was rolling it, so I rushed to find a save point...then I ran into another boss. I almost died, but managed to defeat it. I hurried and save it, and less than 10 seconds later, the electricity went out...twice.

Re: What was the worst thing that...

The worst thing that happened to me involving video games was when, after about 3 months or so of playing Harvest Moon 64 without codes, I gotten everything possible in the game, had lots of money, was friends with everyone, had all photos and recipes, and a family, and then my brother turned it on with gameshark inserted, and my file I had worked so hard on was deleted.

That's a sign that your save batteries are dying, The Blue Master.

That, or because it's an old game, either way.

Re: What was the worst thing that...

Same thing. Save batteries rarely die out on brand new games, now do they?

Re: What was the worst thing that...

That's true. But the reason I said it was because I was so far on getting the heart pieces and it got erased, can't say I wasn't expecting it getting erased since it had done it many times before...so...close...to..getting...all..heart..pi eces..

Meh, got them all on my GBA version, that's something

Re: What was the worst thing that...

Mine was when my original OoT was erased accidently by Andrew, my bf. I couldn't believe it, and yes! I do still love him!

The second worse was when Andrew used an Exploder cheat cartridge, just to play as master hand against my will, on my original SSB on the N64. Bye bye game. No, not the file, just the entire games code, it's unplayable from the word go. ;____;

OoT's my fave game ever, I spent 3 years on that one file, I had everything and had had it since I got it, it was my first file on my first proper Zelda game playthrough, so it was more than memorable.

Oh well, I love Andrew too much!
*huggles him*

Re: What was the worst thing that...

Their nothing like other peoples but their still something,

One time in Super Smash Bros. Melee I was playing in tournament mode. I was facing Level 1 Ice Climbers and I was Ganondorr. Usually I go for people with god speed and attack (preferablly with a sword). So my friend was telling me how to do some of the moves, so I toyed around for a while and then I got too careless and they knocked me off.

Going with stories about savefiles and such, the time got Pokemon Red I was on my frst playthrough and got up to Misty, then my sister erased it. It wasn't far but still there is always something special about the first playthrough.

Re: What was the worst thing that...

Speaking of SSBM, another worst thing happened to me yesterday

ok, I was trying to get the crazy hand trophy with ganondorf, I was at Giga Bowser and I was about to destroy him when my bro came in, made a lot of noise and made me lose my concentration and I died.

I..was..so...close..again...

Re: What was the worst thing that...

Worst time: I was playing through OOA, was on Jabu-Jabu, and saved at the beginning. I picked up the game and played through the entire dungeon without saving. After I beat the boss, I pressed A, B, Start, Select, to get to the save screen. Now I know that only works in Link's Awakening. In the Oracle games, it resets. -_-; I really hate that dungeon.

Second worst time: When my brother dropped my original Game Boy. After that, it only worked with an AC adapter. But that was a long time ago, and I moved on to GBC shortly after.

Would have been my worst time, only I was just stupid: When I turned on my Metroid Prime to discover all save files had been erased! I literally went berserk. Turns out I just had the wrong memory card in. ^_^

...did exactly that. 60 hours of work, gone. But, I went through the new file in Hard mode, and managed to do a whole lot better than I did on the first run through.
