The reason I may never play Battlefield 1942 again

Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising.

Why? Because aparently you will be able to play against 150 oponents over the internet and (according to them) even on a 56k it will play as smothly as ever.

Think Planetside but Without a monthly fee.

That sounds amazing. I've always wanted to try a game with more then 32 people in one server, and since I didnt want to pay for Planetside, this may be the game. Awesome, thanks a lot.

Best thing is that it is coming out in 2 days!

Hold on for one second...I thought you were bashing 1942 ? I mean you compared it to planetside. And now you've changed your mind in one post ?

I downloaded and played the multiplayer demo. Suffice is to say, it's not that great.

The demo isn't that amazing, I myself prefer Tribes 2. (Yes, I know, I still live in the dark ages.)

Luckily for you, Tribes: Vengeance is coming out soon. While not made by the original developer, from what I've read in previews and seen in screenshots and movies, it looks like it's going to be a very worthy sequel. The Unreal Warfare Engine certainly isn't put to shave, with physics being used not only for death animations, but also the jetpacks (forget what it's really called), vehicles, etc.. The gameplay also seems to be just as fast-paced as before.
