What are you guys' opinions of Final Fantasy XIII? I've been wanting to try one of these games, and I think (?) this is one of the only ones on the PS3 (besides its sequel).

Besides that, are there any RPGs for the PS3 that you can recommend?

Some older Final Fantasy games are on PSN for ten bucks a pop. Everything newer than X is garbage and X ain't so hot.

I'd vouch for V through IX. Heard good things about IV but I haven't played it. Didn't much love IX but it's better than what came after it. Nobody will stick up for VIII. I will. VIII was solid. Combat was decided more by strategy and preparation than grinding and, while the main character is a douche, it's probably the best story in the series.

XIII and XIII-2 are pretty good games. If you can get into the battle system.

But seriously, get Tales of Graces. Just do it.

Speaking of Tales, I found a copy of Symphonia for 3 bucks at a pawn shop.

Unfortunately it does not yet have online capability and my room is not big enough for four people, so I haven't bothered playing it myself. But damn. That looks amazing.

^ found out about that a week or so ago. :D It's good fun, and I'm looking forward to trying out the multiplayer once online's been finished. I predict there will be a lot of shenanigans.

I just wish they used a different 2D Mario; SMB is a pretty ehhhh looking game.

...It's April 1st today. And I'm not just saying that because I'm Australian (as it's already 3:15PM here); a number of companies have already brought out their pranks, including Google and their 8-bit map, along with Notch (of Minecraft fame, for those few who don't know) announcing his new game "Mars Effect".

EDIT: Ah, this just made me realize that daylight savings changed here today. Gotta switch the clocks...

Oh man. That Google Maps 8bit is priceless.
