Re: Starfox games

The only SF game I really like was SF64. It was a lot of fun. SFA was boring, and the original was just too wierd for my tastes. But SF64; I played and beat that game quite a bit. Every once in awhile I will pick it up and play it again.

I may give SF Armada a rental. Since there are a lot of other games I would rather buy instead.

Re: Starfox games

I've got Lylat Wars for N64, that was a really good game apart from the fact that there wasn't a level select but I guess that's how the games played. Oh yeah, I'm not sure if any of you know this but if you get expert mode on it you get to play as fox with sunglasses, like his father.

Re: Starfox games

It actually will not be called Armada anymore. They dropped that title. And Lylat Wars? Wasn't it just Starfox 64?

Re: Starfox games

Nope it was called Lylat Wars, I'm holding the box right now.

I love playing expert mode, more challenging.

Re: Starfox games

I just checked my SF64 box and all it says is "StarFox 64". No where on it does it say Lylat wars. Of course, this is the box which had the rumble pack as a free feature. Somebody should scan the Lylat wars box. I would like to see it.

Re: Starfox games

64 (aka 2) was the best. The first one is very hard. I never finished it. Star Fox Adventures (aka 3) was way to easy but it was really really fun and had some nice graphics. I can't wait for the next one. The R-Wing looks so cool!

The box for the games are the same it just dosent say "Star Fox" ooohhh different words. Just search for it. I'm sure you can find it. It's the same game.

Yes I knew about the glasses also if you get all the medals you can play on foot in multiplayer.

Re: Starfox games

I've got the SNES versions which is hella fun and I had Lylat Wars (which I believe is the non-North America and some other random country's name for SF64) for a fair while. Lylat Wars was good but got boring after a little while, not like the SNES version.

Haven't played SFA but from what I've heard its now that good. I'm still cut at Nintendo for dropping the characters they were originally going to use in that game.

Looking forward to the next SF though. I think it'll probably be the best one yet. I hope that it doesn't emphasise the on-foot part of the game too much though.

Re: Starfox games

Starfox is awesome.

I always liked the SNES game, I think it was the first game I had for that system. Loads of fun, but I was never able to beat the Level 3 path. I liked going into the black hole, and that strange off-the-map hidden course. That place was pure weirdness... @_@. But yeah, a classic game, IMO.

Starfox 64 was probably my favorite game that I had for the N64. For its time, I thought it was the spiffiest looking game ever. Fluent controls, good graphics, some variety in the path you take, something thats fun to play over and over again. I loved it.

Now Starfox Adventures, was pretty lame, IMO. It completely lacked that Starfox feel. Which is probably because it was just a less-than great Zelda imitation. I have to admit, my favorite part of that game was flying between the worlds... and the last fight. Starfighting. Thats what Starfox is, I didnt like the switch.

So, I too look forward to Armada with hopes that it doesnt suck and brings back the starfighting action that I liked so much from the first 2. Since Namco is making it though... I think itll turn out pretty dang good.

Re: Starfox games

I beat all three paths on the snes version, it was hard and not very fun. sf64 was great fun, I spent a lot of time unlocking foot mode on multiplayer and it sucked. sfa was an awesome game with zelda gameplay.
