Should I get a 360, PS3 or upgrade my PC?

I know I might have posted this in the wrong section, but I was basically wondering what you guys think I should do. I know a lot of this depends on personal preference, but I'd appreciate any help I could get.

Right now I have a Wii and an outdated PC. I was looking to upgrade my PC, and I realized that I would pretty much have to replace everything. It would probably cost around 500$. I realized that I could buy a 360 or a PS3 and some games for that same price.

I'll pretty much play any game except for music games, sports games, and fighting games.

I'm kind of leaning PS3, because I want to play Uncharted 2 and MGS4, and I like the free online and built-in wireless. But it seems like the 360 has the better versions of multiplatform games.

I've always pretty much been a PC gamer, but I feel like the costs of upgrading are too high, and it would probably be a better idea just to buy a console.

Anyway, I was just wondering what you all think, and what you would recommend.

Since I own all three consoles and a desktop PC that can play pretty much any modern PC game, I'm probably in the best condition to give an opinion on this.

If you like playing WRPGs, RTSs and FPSs, and if you like playing them the way they're supposed to be played, upgrade your PC; if you like the PS3 exclusives, get a PS3. There's a whole world of better choices to make than making the decision to get a 360; as I see it, aside from a few exclusives here and there, you would be pretty much set this generation with a PC capable of gaming, a PS3, and a Wii.

This is not that noticable to be honest.

This is going to turn into one ugly thread. Just wait until the PC gamers hit it.

You should have an HD console, that much is known. PS3 plus Wii plus a semi-decent PC means no need for a 360.

Upgrading your computer would be really nice too. It works both ways, because a lot of games worth getting an X360 for also come out on PC. The disadvantage to this is that gameplay and stuff between them vary.

This, this, and this, though I'd go for a PC before I go for any console, even if I were particularly interested in said console's exclusives, considering what you get with a decent PC.

I have a good gaming PC, a PS3, and a 360. Personally I like my PC the most for gaming, with the PS3 then 360 following behind. I just prefer PC games with all their perks (dedicated servers, keyboard and mouse control, higher resolution+better graphical detail, custom content, etc). If you don't care about any of those things you may be better off saving a few bucks and picking up a PS3 or 360.

I'd go with a ps3. Upgrading your computer seems to be too expensive and unless you really want to play all of those generic fps's on the the 360 you should get a ps3.

The PS3 is just as guilty as the 360 when it comes to first person shooters. Their FPS exclusives just aren't as high profile as the 360's FPS exclusives.

I can price a brand-spankin'-new computer that can play any PC game ever made for just over $300. It'd be even cheaper if you're just upgrading.

Well, since I don't own anyone of those.... I would just choose one that I would really want or what sounds cooler/nicer to me.

This. He probably doesn't know the right places to shop for parts; nothing a little googling, browsing and price comparing can't fix.

personally im going with a ps3 soon, only because im a play station person. its just like Chevy vs. ford its all about preference.

Alright the PC will be the most expensive route. You also have to take in consideration that most games are for consoles and the PC barely gets any(Aion, WoW, Diablo 3, Starcraft 2 are all the new pc games and they are all rpgs that I'm aware of). So with that outta the way, what's left is the 360 or PS3. 360 has exclusives like Halo, Gears, Mass Effect, Fable, Splinter Cell Convictions, & Alan Wake. PS3 has Uncharted, MGS4, God Of War, MAG, Resistance, Killzone, Demon's Souls, Final Fantasy and that's all that coems to my mind of exclusives but theres prob more both systems.

PSN and Xbox Live. They are basically very much alike except one you pay for while the other is free. Xbox Live has a few services that PSN doesn't have yet but the PSN came a long way from where it was when it released so we're catching up. PS3 is also getting Netflix very soon along you can play Blue-Rays in a PS3. So the decision will mainly be based off the games
