Action Replay

Recently i got this thing for the gc called action replay. It is basically a gameshark. It was intresting because it has lots of codes to make games a lot more interesting. It also has codes for all the zelda games on the gc (even the ones in the collectors edition.) I was wondering if anyone else has seen this.

Re: Action Replay

I've seen it, and i've had samples of it from magazines.

Though i'm not going to get it because the samples seriously buggered my games and i'm not taking any chances.

Re: Action Replay

I have one.
It does not tamper with you game discs in any way, shape or form.
It may do things to your memory card, that it. Though it hasn't happened to me I'm pretty sure it can.

Re: Action Replay

Hmmmm. Might get one then.
It's probably just the samples which mess 'em up.

Re: Action Replay

I have an action replay for my GBA. I've been considering one for the cube, but decided there was no point.

Basically, it'll only mess up with memory cards (or so I've heard).

Alas, I lost My Smash Bros. I to an Action Replay wannabe-just so Supertails could play as Master Hand. It's just won't work. At all.

I only use Action Replay with Pokémon Sapphire at the moment. The codes don't work with Harvest Moon-from the official site!
www.codejunkies.com or something very similar.

Re: Action Replay

I've never seen Action Replay's/Game Sharks/Game Genies or anything of the like in Aussie stores (at least in Brissie) so I don't know how they fare on GCN's and what not but I have one for my SNES. They practically double the replay value. Good fun ;-)

By the way Jada, that is one awesome sig! xD

Re: Action Replay

I have never seen anything for Action Replay, but I have seen clippits of it in EGM, so I assume it is pretty good.

Re: Action Replay

I see a lot of Action Replay stuff here... it's in ever game store around my area. They are just another GameShark type tool, right? I won't be getting one, I don't need it nor want it. They are for whjat looks like every *recent* console in existance, I see them in different colors and in flashy boxes...

I hadn't seen one until sometime last year so I'm like, "Hmm, I may never get the opportunity again.." So I grabbed it and it's great. You're right, the replay value is huge.

Re: Action Replay

Correct me I I'm wrong, but isn't the AR more then just a cheat device? From what I've heard you could play games from other regions with it, making it a better tool then the Freeloader. At least that's what I heard.

Re: Action Replay

Yeah, you can play imported games on them. Not sure about pirated games though.

Probably not. Piracy tools are illegal. However, I wonder why importing tools are legal then. I guess Nintendo's crying didn't help them there.

Nintendo: "Importing is bad. It costs us money. And it proves that games we think those non-Japanesies can't understand are popular."

Re: Action Replay

It doesn't really matter if pirating is illegal or not.
It's not like the freeloader can tell the diff between a foreign disc and a pirated one. Well, if you copy it right anyway.

Re: Action Replay

Yeah i've seen it. Theres one for the XBOX too i think. I have a Gameshark version 2 for Playstation 2 and a Gameshark V3.2 for N64. I'm going to learn how to hack codes for the N64 this summer.
