PS1 also had Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot, and Gran Turismo.

Don't turn this into a console war guys. Both the PlayStation and N64 were excellent!

Definitely not true. But it's to be expected on a Zelda website.

Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, Tekken, WWF SmackDown!, Crash Team Racing, Legacy of Kain, Tomb Raider, Wipeout 3, Spyro, Street Fighter Alpha, Crash Bandicoot, Tenchu, Metal Slug X, Ace Combat, Ridge Racer, Medal of Honor, Einhander (made by Square, but not an RPG), Soul Blade, Castlevania, Ape Escape, Syphon Filter, and Mega Man X6, among others.

Not to mention the games that were on both PSX and N64 that were still good, like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Rayman 2, Spider-Man,

And you can't be serious, discounting the "Square RPGs" as if they weren't anything. That includes classics like Final Fantasy VII-IX, Tactics, Xenogears, Vagrant Story, and Parasite Eve. And Square wasn't the only ones on the RPG boat: you also had Grandia, Lunar, Tales, Sui-freaking-koden, Persona, Fear Effect, and Breath of Fire.

Re: Finally Got an N64 Today!

Good job on the N64 purchase. You need to get GoldenEye 007 and The World Is Not Enough if you can find them! I'll smash anybody at those games

I need to buy another Perfect Dark if I can find one, cause the one I have does not work anymore . There has to be one at Al's Music (which is an AWESOME place to buy old games).

The N64's version of Rayman 2 kicked the PSX's ass.
The PSX version had stuff missing.

Re: Finally Got an N64 Today!

Hey guys! Awesome news!
My brother's friend James was willing to make a deal with me today; That if I give him one of my N64 controllers he will give me 2 N64 games for free!
He is bringing a list of the N64 games he has tomorrow to school. He did remember 2 off the top of his head, which were really great games; GoldenEye 007 and StarFox 64 were the ones he remembered! He must have a good collection!
I will have 2 more games by Friday, and maybe one, or both of those will be mine! Unless he has other really great games, then it'll be a tough decision.

On an unrelated side note, my brother's friend, James, same guy, gave my brother a Sega Dreamcast and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, for free! It works perfect too!

On another unrelated side note, only 4 more posts until I reach 200 posts! Yay me! (Subject to change)

Re: Finally Got an N64 Today!

Another update...
My friend Zachary gave me 2 N64 games for free. Perfect Dark and Starcraft 64. Awesome, cause I love Perfect Dark. I tried Starcraft 64, but it isn't my kind of game, y'know?
My friend James forgot to get the list of his N64 games, but he said he's gonna call me this weekend and list them off. I don't want Starcraft 64 so he is gonna give me OoT for it, along with the two other games he's gonna give me for the controller I gave him today. He said he remembers off the top of his head he has GoldenEye 007 and StarFox 64. But he has more, and as I said, he's gonna call me about them.
Oh, and I almost forgot; my friend Zach gave me something he thought was a N64 Rumble Pak today, but it's not rumbling. I think it's sort of a memory card. Cause there was save data on it for Perfect Dark. But maybe it's a Rumble Pak too. Help!
It is a Nyko Hyper Pak Plus. It has a right switch and a left switch. The left has the settings "MEM", "1" and "2" on it. The right switch has "1", "2", "3", and "4" on it.
Can someone help me to what this really is? Thanks.

Re: Finally Got an N64 Today!

Ok i looked up that doodad and apparently its a memory card/rumble pak combo. Perhaps the switches toggle between memory card functions and rumble pak functions.
According to this, it has two levels of rumble sensitivity to choose from so my guess is this. Option 1 on the item is memory card function. Option 2 is rumble pak function. Option 3 is higher sensitivity for rumble pack function. Option 4 turns all other functions off. Perhaps the MEM switches toggle the amount of memory the card part actually holds.
Thats just a guess. Ive never really seen one of those before. Hope that helped!

Re: Finally Got an N64 Today!

Yeah, it did help, thanks!
But it lost its battery energy within 2 minutes. I just need to get new ones. Too bad it takes AAA, cause I don't have them.

Re: Finally Got an N64 Today!

Sorry for the double post, but I need an answer to a question, and I think I'd be wasting time to make a thread for it.
The Expansion Pak produces higher graphics, but does it also store save data in it? I think it does, but I don't know.

Re: Finally Got an N64 Today!

The Expansion Pak doesn't store data in it.

It's either required on some games (such as Donkey Kong 64 or Majora's Mask), or having it allows you to turn on a hi-resolution setting (in games such as Star Wars: Rogue Squadron or World Driver Championship), and a few games don't require it to play, but you need it to play certain game modes (like in Perfect Dark).

So I guess all the games I have save batteries in them, like Ocarina of Time?

Re: Finally Got an N64 Today!

Every game does for N64. The expansion pack basically makes the console better for specific games to run, because they're so bad ass.
