My guess is that Nintendo is trying to pull an iPhone, releasing an new model on a yearly basis, with developers designing their games for a certain model of hardware, eventually moving to the next model when adoption gets high enough and an even newer model is out, and so on.

Oh joy just another reason to waste money on something we all already have. Anyway the idea oh upgrade every year intrigues me.

Am I the only one excited about this? I haven't purchased a DSi yet, and now I'm glad I waited. It'll be a little bulkier, but I like the idea of two huge screens.

It may not even be coming to the US, though. Some people on other sites think that it may be aimed at the older audience in Japan or at people with poorer eyesight. I guess we can call it the DSi-see...?

I remember when Nintendo was more or less convinced that the DS would flop and so refused to include in the "Gameboy" line and refer to it as a side project instead.

The DSi is useless anyway. Why would a 4" screen make anymore difference?

As far as I'm concerned my DS Lite works perfectly well, and it plays my GBA games. Way I figure, I am set.

No, I'm ♥♥♥♥ing irritating. If you just made up your mind and got a DSi, it would just be mildly irritating.

Just get the first DSi. Or even better, I think you'd be happier with a DSLite.

I remember that, and that was pretty lame.

As for the new DSi, good for people that can afford it. It's a pain in the ass for those of us that want to have the best model around, but I personally don't care. I'm fine with my DS Lite. Is it just me?

I don't quite understand why people are complaining about this. If the only change really is how big the screens are... well, "oh no now I need a new one"?
Doesn't add up to me.
This is the equivalent to getting pissed off when Nintendo reveals the inevitable third "superized" version of Pokemon in a generation.

Yeah, that was gold. I also remember all the empty promises about the last two years of the gamecube and the wii appealing to core gaming....
