Star Fox Wii? RUMOR

A quick Google revealed to me a rumor spreading around the net- that the November Issue of Nintendo Power will unveil Star Fox Wii. Of course, this is only a rumor. Nothing solid yet. But we can hope, right?
Star Fox Wii is supposedly supporting Wii Motion Plus, WiFi and WiiSpeak.
Eh. Don't really know what to think of it at the time.

(Apparently this rumor has been around since last month-
why does no-one on here know about it yet?)

EDIT: Pic

Comparing rumored cover to actual cover- matches up.

EDIT2: It's a fake. Officially.

Re: Star Fox Wii? RUMOR

StarFox Wii sounds great, but Motion Plus, WiFi and Wii Speak? That's wishful thinking, and not even close to believable.

I want the Arwings back, dammit. You don't need Motion Plus for those.

I'm just going by what I heard. There is suppose to be some sort of WiFi battle mode where WiiSpeak is computable.

But like I said, just a rumor.

I wouldn't care even if it was, looking at the quality standard set by the previous few Star Fox games.

Re: Star Fox Wii? RUMOR

I believe a Star Fox for Wii is just what the franchise needs. This game could potentially become the Mario Galaxy of Star Fox games. I, for one, would love to fly an arwing and aim with the wii remote. However, I don't see the need for motion plus. Star Fox is essentially a first person shooter because it's basic gameplay mechanic revolves around aiming a reticule and shooting stuff to hell. Wii games had no problems with FPSs using just the normal Wii remote; Metroid Prime 3 and The Conduit come to mind. Ha, maybe they have some sort of tractor beam component to add; now that would require motion plus and be very cool. Imagine flinging space debris at enemy ships. Cool.

Yeah, but Metroid and Conduit didn't have BARREL ROLLS.

So wait, is that cover real?

I'm doubting, since those Arwings are the same model from Assault.

Unless it's a return to Lylat Wars, I'm not particularly interested.

ONE Arwing is smiler to Assault. But I can't find anything that looks even remotely like the rest of the stuff there.

Maybe that's because the cover is just three ship (which have all appeared in old star fox games) on top of a scary orange backdrop.

Mainly what I'm saying is that the Great Fox at the bottom doesn't look like any other Great Fox I can find- and I've been looking.

EDIT: oh wait ♥♥♥♥. Never mind, I just found this.
I'm calling shenanigans on the cover. =(

Re: Star Fox Wii? RUMOR

Sucks but is usually the case for these things.

Maybe we could turn this topic into some kind of hypothetical Starfox Wii discussion?

That'd be so cool. I just imagine myself and my friend, Ash playing this and yelling at each other: "Shoot him! Get him with your landmaster!!"

Re: Star Fox Wii? RUMOR

That cover is a fake.

It's just a mish mash of different Star Fox Assault art with an orange background.

Thanks for the heads up. Too bad you're already late.

Buuuuuuut I'd just like to add that Nintendo mysteriously renewed StarFox.com with no explanation.
Just saying.

Re: Star Fox Wii? RUMOR

If we were to get another Starfox game, I'd love for it to be somewhat like Halo. Some missions where you pilot Arwings, Landmasters, and even some new vehicles. Missions on foot, just running around pumping lead into your enemies faces...that'd be awesome. Bungie already left Microsoft, so it would be cool if they could partner with Nintendo just once to make one epic Starfox game. They were going to partner with them anyway to make a Halo game for the DS anyways.

We can only dream...

No. No more foot missions.
