Which Street Fighter Character do you use?

Due to the large number of characters in the series, I can't list all of them all individually in a poll, but I've tried to be as inclusive as possible.

I myself can't decide - I'm torn between a couple of characters: Bison and Vega are fairly unpredictable, Ryu and Ken are versatile, while Guile is neat and efficient. Who do you usually choose?

PS - since I can't give individual poll options, it would help if you also posted to say who you choose.

I always play as Sagat because he has the best stats.

Yeah; apparently he's considered "broken" in SF4... even more than Seth... oh snap! I forgot to list Seth. Well, if anyone wants to vote for him, put him in with Akuma/Gouken.

Anyway, although I'll probably change my mind later, I'm gonna say... Bison. Even though even as I type, I'm thinking, "no, Guile... no wait, Vega".

I only played SF2, but I always played Ryu because he was the easiest to use for me.

Yeah, and his Super's probably the easiest to pull off, too.

I always played Ken in SF2.

Give me Sakura/Cammy/Ryu/Ken/Dan or give me DEATH.

Kind of predictable, but I've been a Ryu man since '92. Can't really help it.

I use Haruhi, Sailor Saturn, Master Ryu, and Peter Giffin in M.U.G.E.N. Vs. Street Fighters.

I only use Dhalsim in SF2 and SF4. I "know how to use" shoto characters, but I can't play them worth anything. And I can barely play with Dhalsim as it is.

He IS broken. And the funny thing is, he's also broken in most incarnations of Street Fighter 2, except for Hyper and HD Remix.

I like to play as Vega(claw). They may have made him a bit bad in 4, but I still really enjoy playing as him.

I didn't pick any of them.

A broken character is a character that's completely unbeatable by most if not all methods.



Sagat is not broken in SF4. That's a myth. On paper he's the best character, but he's FAAAR from unbeatable. A sagat has only won one U.S. Major (SEB. Which I attended) and high level Sagats lose in tournaments all the time. At WCW one of the best Sagats in the nation lost to a Gen. Who is considered to be low-mid tier.

On that note, SF4 is a really balanced game.


Actually, Sagat has never really been broken. He was really good in ST and Alpha 2 but that's it.

He WAS pretty broken in CvS2 but that's all I can think of. And that's not a street fighter game.



In 4 I play Ken, Skaura and Akuma. I played Chun-li for a while.

In ST/HDR I play Vega.

in 3s I use Ken, Ryu and Yang. Used to use Makoto.

If you want to be technical, none of them are.

I'm aware that calling them shoto's in itself in inaccurate but I'm only refering to fan slang here.

The series as of now has five shotos. Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Dan and Sean.

it's just a term used to identify the design skeleton that they all use.

SFIV Sagat is not broken.

Bison is my favorite character to play as in SFIV, although I'm probably better with Akuma overall.

SFIII, I use Ken, Akuma and Ibuki.

Alpha, Ken and Sakura.

Not really huge on HDR. I usually go with Bison, Sagat or Ken.

Out of curiosity, why do you choose these characters? If you choose Ryu/Ken, is it because they're easy to learn?

I like Bison (and Vega) because they have multiple aerial attacks that look identical until the last second. That way, it's easy to, for example, fake out the opponent with Bison's Devil Reverse, making them think it's an incoming Head Stomp. Vega, likewise, has a Flying Barcelona Attack which initially looks like a Sky High Claw, and once it becomes apparent that it IS a Flying Barcelona Attack, the opponent still has to guess whether you'll slash or finish with an Izuna Drop. On top of these, they have other moves to make you really able to mix it up, and both have sliding kicks. Guile, on the other hand, has only two specials, but the Flash Kick is so effective that he doesn't really need much else. It counters pretty much everything once you're quick enough with it.

I usually use Ryu because I'm most familiar with him and think that he is really cool.
